I purchased a new Duracell battery for my car in February 2023, and it died in July 2023. I returned the battery for testing and it tested at just over 7 volts. I was told that when a battery drops below 10 volts they will not honor the warranty on the battery. The manager on duty tried to to be helpful, and charged the battery overnight. He also said that it when a battery drops that low could be an issue with the alternator, so I contacted two Honda dealers to inquire about the cost. Burleson Honda was not helpful and quoted a new alternator at over $2k (just the part - not installing) so I reached out to the service manager at Fort Worth Honda. He explained that they almost never see alternator issues with the model I drive, and said if there was an issue I would have seen a warning light come on.
When I returned the next day, the owner (I think) said it was probably the car and I had to take my re-charged battery even though I no longer trusted it. Rather than use the battery that could leave me stranded, I bought another battery from a different auto store to make sure they would honor the warranty (3 years, not 2 years for the Duracell that failed).
After replacing the batter with a different brand, I confirmed the warning light does work, and I've not had an issue with the new battery. If it was an alternator issue, the new battery would have failed by now.

Customer Service is pretty much non-existent anywhere u go these days, but I was pleasantly surprised when I came into the store- was promptly greeted, the dude asked if he cud help me, I only explained ONCE, was checked out and happy all in about 10 minutes. It was a MIRACLE right there on Wilshire Blvd. I had purchased a really cute lamp fir my mom on Temu. It came without a bulb and almost zero info on the kind I needed to get! BRENT understood and brought some over that he even TESTED for me (I had brought the lamp base into the store) made sure they fit- it was an awesome experience that I wish I cud get everywhere else I go. Sounds like I'm exaggerating but u have NO idea how my day to day interactions with employees at other establishments have changed from rude to repulsive over the last few years.
