Dealing with Ron Choate Custom Upholstering was a complete nightmare! Their customer service was abysmal. I had them replace the headliner on a Ford Escape with a sunroof. Their estimate was for $375 and they told me the work should take one day most likely, but 1 and a half at most. The job ended up taking almost 5 days! I dropped my car off at 8:30am last Monday (when he requested me to bring it in) and it was not completed until 10am on Friday. The headliner work is ok, but they broke the sunroof and did not tell me what was going on until the end. They were making excuses that they needed more time, but would not tell me what was happening. They were even rude when I called to find out the status of the work. I called at 4pm on Tuesday since I hadn’t heard anything from them all day and the job was supposed to be done earlier that day. I was told that they didn’t work on it at all that day and they needed more time and they would call me in the morning. I still didn’t hear anything on Wednesday so I called at 4pm to find out if it was done and I was told again that they would call me in the morning. I let them know that I had been told that each of the previous days as well and never received a call in the morning. They responded “Then we’ll just call you at 4 then”. I went to the shop in person on Thursday and was not told what was happening with the sunroof. I finally received an explanation and was shown the broken part when I picked up the car on Friday. They were only willing to take off $50 and the sales tax off of the price even though they took 3 times as long as they said and my sunroof does not work correctly now. I would strongly discourage doing business with this...
   Read moreRon was a little difficult to communicate and coordinate with regarding the replacement of my mini-van's carpet. I would call him everyday, until he said not to contact him...he would contact me when there was further information from the insurance company. So, I did as instructed...he finished the job, called me 3X's when I was sick, calling him the following day...then he got hot under the collar! I cleared that up...then he told me I owed him $200 for the deductible (when he was doing a supplementary job)!! I got a little P.O'd...he didn't want to release the vehicle unless I paid him another $200 deductible! A 3-way with my Agent cleared it up and was good....So, 4 Stars says we all have room for improvement! The job was great! Communication...
   Read moreRon did not write down what I asked him to do. Needlessly to say it was backwards and useless for me to use plus the price was twice the price quoted. After a heated argument I left and will ever one I know what he did. I have lived here over 30 years and know a heck of a lot of people in Burleson. Plus all my friends on Facebook. Sad part is I have to pay someone else to undue his screwup and fix it the way I wanted to start with. As a disabled vet my money does not grow on trees..I hope he enjoys what he ripped me...
