I'm a occasional shopper & loyalty customer of Ollie's. It's a hit or miss store with finding good quality, reasonable priced items but worth browsing. They do have long lines with one cashier & they only come to the cashier's aid when the line is halfway through the store.
I went in last night to stock up on some items & was followed by an associate on every aisle. The associate wasn't even being discreet about it or pretending to straighten the store or put back items. She needed to do that because the store was wrecked on certain aisles & spots on shelves were empty! This associate would come down every aisle but never once even greeted me. I've never had this happened before at this location. I had a basket full of items, no big purse or baggy clothes so where did she think I was gonna go with all those items?! I purchased $153 worth of items. If you're gonna follow customers or worry about theft, place some value in your store & install cameras, security, more knowledgeable/friendly staff on the floor & at the register, organize your store in an open view floor plan so associates have an open view of all areas of the store & train your employees to greet be discreet & cautious with suspecting thieves. You never want to make paying customers feel targeted or singled out...
Read moreI like Ollies good enough. But You would think that Christmas & Easter candy would be much cheaper in July but they do not mark things down unless it is close to expiration dates regardless of the season. The prices of that "gourmet" popcorn is absurd. I want to try it but they never mark it down to $0.99. Things like soaps & Shampoo & cleaners are no cheaper here than normal department stores. But there are great deals on other things to be found throughout the store. A huge pet peeve is they haven't spaced the isles enough at all. I was trying to shop for sheets and there is absolutely not enough space for 2 carts to pass each other by on the sheet isles. Myself and the 3 others behind me all had to walk out of the isle backwards because there was a lady facing towards us Who simply wouldnt budge. She couldnt come forward and wouldnt go backwards, and no one can shopp on that isle unless they are the only one on it and that is very frustrating. Many places throughout the store are unpassable with a shopping cart. Anyone in a wheelchair would be helpless...
Read moreProbably the most well lit Ollie's I have ever been to. Each location has specific specialties. This store has more cookware, gadgets, housewares than things like food and toys. However it had a really nice selection of everything. Goos pet area especially for dogs. Staff was friendly and patient. A large family with a lit of merchandise was ahead of me in line who seemed frazzled amd their kids misplaced half of the things they were going to get. The cashier and bagger stayed positive and encouraging to the parents and extremely nice to the kids. Their ability to handle this situation kept kids from being unruly and helped the parents as well. They were obviously short staffed and I was really impressed by their customer service. While I had to leave without my purchases due to an obligation, I will definitely go back cause I really want that copper pan pan aet for $70 ans the Ninja Foodie...
