Our class went on a community trip to the book store on a Wednesday morning. We got there right as it opened and the store got pretty busy right away. The bathrooms were clean and organized, though not super accessible to wheelchair users. The employee at the cash register was friendly and helpful. The person in the children's book section was helpful in giving us information about where to find books we needed. The store had a lot of people working there, which was great.
We came on the trip with a few friends who used wheelchairs and in terms of accessibility we thought the store was somewhat accessible. It was hard to get through every aisle with wheelchairs because there were carts in the way, some of them were small and some people were in the aisles with their shopping carts. There was a curb cut to get into the store though and there were accessible parking spots right up front. There was no automatic door opener button, which made it tricky to get inside. The counter to check out was a bit high for some of friends using wheelchairs and made it hard to reach.
In terms of deals, there were a variety of items to pick at a range of prices which was nice. There were also lots of sales going on! The book prices were really low and cheap, which we loved. The store felt clean and organized, there were tons of signs that told us where different types of books were and what the sales were. We liked the variety of books, such as there were many Batman and Superman graphic novels and comic books. We also liked the section of anime books that they had.
Overall we had a fun trip where we purchased lots of books at...

To say the least, today was not a great day for my children. It was a busy day and everyone was talking, debating books, and laughing. I had my kids go to the children's department by themselves to get a book each. However, my children came looking for me telling me a worker with long blond hair and I believe an olive shirt instructed them to quiet down and stop fooling around. First and foremost, my children are old enough to understand that they should not be doing anything they’re not supposed to. My 10 y/o son was being the bigger person annd apologized nevertheless and she refused by saying "no". Are you seriously refusing an apology from a child?! Then, in a second incident with the same worker my daughter went to a rack that she wasn't aware was not a sale rack and the person snatched the book from my daughter telling her it wasn't on sale and ripping off the SALES tag. As a parent, I was deeply disappointed by how she handled my children. I would have said something, but knowing me it wouldn’t end well. So we purchased our books and left.
This is one of my favorite bookstores and to believe that their employees treated their customers this way is unacceptable. Now, I'm not trying to make this a race issue, but there were other caucasian kids around chatting and FOOLING around and the worker said nothing. If we ever decide to go back, it’s mentally noted that we have to be prepared to deal with a rude employee which is ridiculous....
Read moreAn excellent option for finding used books, DVDs and Blurays, vinyl records, video games, and collectibles items. This easily accessible store has a large parking lot that's shared with other businesses in the plaza. While they have changed their policies about buying books, it's a great option for some cash and a discount for your next purchase. They now only buy books published within the past four years, but you can donate books you no longer want. I am unsure about their policies for buying other items. Every time I've needed assistance from their staff, they have been knowledgeable, friendly, and ready to help. They're able to look up their inventory and assist you with finding what you need in a jiffy. On weekends when at their busiest, I was impressed how quickly they moved through a long line with their efficient and numerous cashiers. They have an excellent selection of all types of books, from the classics to children's literature, and there's a case filled with the collector's edition books, which I enjoy skimming. It's always a treat to stop in and see what they have, or when I'm in need of a book at a reasonable price and don't feel like paying for shipping. I highly recommend the Used Book Superstore for anyone looking for an alternative to purchasing items at a "box...
