The Look Salon — Local services in Burnsville

First of all I will say I gave this place one star because you cannot give no stars and still right a review so here goes. I made an appointment and the stylist I was given was a so called “Master stylist” yeah maybe 30 years ago she may have been a master stylist. I could have gone to Great Clips or Cost Cutters and gotten a better hair cut. I went in for a trim on a super simple haircut and left horrified. I have an A Line bob and so it was just in need of a trim and a little uplift. I stressed how I wanted it to look and that I did not want to lose any of the length in the front 3 times before she started to cut. The back is shorter which is fine but she not only took all the point and length off the front it now is a straight across cut almost as a bowl was placed on my head and I look like an Amish boy!!! Her hands shook as if she had Parkinson’s and that scared me a bit. Also the front is so uneven and one side is longer than the other. I will now need to wear my hair up until it grows out more in order to have someone fix the damage! I traveled 2 hours there and 2 hours back with my husband as we were in town for a getaway to shop and pamper ourselves. Big mistake for sure. I highly recommend that anyone looking for a nice style do not go there. Don’t let all the 5 star reviews fool you because by far it is the worst salon I’ve ever been to! I think maybe the owner should re-evaluate who he keeps on in his salon if he wants to continue keeping business. Again save your money and go...

♡♡FOUND HIM♡♡ It is my sincerest hope, that those of you that have been searching for, A STYLIST, take a moment to read my review on, THE LOOK SALON in Burnsville. Like each and everyone of you, I was on a journey of discovery, a journey to NOT just find someone to cut my hair but find a, TRUE STYLIST that would create a look that compliments me perfectly. I am very much into hair, I peruse Pinterest, Utube and the Internet Daily looking at what is trending, reading reviews and looking for 5 Star Salons. This is how I found Gregg Bakken, Owner and Master Stylist at, THE LOOK SALON, in Burnsville. When, I scheduled my appointment, I mentioned that I was a first time client. Unbeknownst to me, Gregg had set aside an hour and a half for my appointment which provided an opportunity to talk about what was working with my current style, the shape of my face and head, my profile and the features he wanted to accentuate. I have NEVER had a better cut and style NEVER!!

I, of course as we all are when going to a new stylist, was feeling a little nervous and anxious but knew within minutes of having met Gregg that he is passionate about hair, style and products. It did not take long before I knew I was in the right hands.

I showed The stylist the hairstyle i wanted, which was the classic comb over, & what I got was ABSOLUTELY NOTHING like the video of the hairstyle i showed her . After I urged her two or three times after she kept redoing it that it was not what I wanted she just urged me that it was my hairtype that wouldn't let me have the style i wanted, ALTHOUGH I WOULD'VE LOVED TO HEAR THAT FROM THE BEGINNING BEFORE SHE CUT MY HAIR SHORTER TO TRY TO ACHIEVE THE LOOK I WANTED THAT SHE KNEW FROM THE START I COULDN'T ACHIEVE WITH MY HAIR TYPE. Ultimately, I paid nearly 100 dollars (including products to get it into that "style") to look like I have a Damn rat on my head, not to mention that the right side of my hair looked like she wore a blindfold & snipped away at everything that could've been there. Bottom line, DO NOT GO TO THIS SALON! Their stylists are friendly & I liked the atmosphere but the haircut & styling itself was just absolutely dreadful, Stevie wonder can style my hair better than that salon ever could...
