Because the roads had been washed out up to the lady, the bus bus ride was a little bumpy, but The driver really did a remarkable job getting us up there smoothly. The lady is absolutely breathtaking. It took my breath away, and it made me cry the minute I saw her. you’re able to go inside and see all the memorials and the prayer requests and the rosaries left behind in memorial to others is awe striking. We got to spend 45 minutes with her. They also have a memorial building where you can put in your own prayer request. I totally Recommend getting there one hour early and watch the short film About how they made the lady of of the Rockies. It’s a three hour tour, start to finish, and I totally recommend it !! Best way to spend three hours ever!!

Great experience overall. Mark, our tour guide was excellent. If your book yourself for the Lady of the Rockies tour, be prepared for a bumpy ride. Roads are one lane, all dirt and barely maintained. Despite all that, it was worth it! The views are spectacular. The story behind the 90ft statue is unique with history and hope. In addition to the statue, there is a chapel and modern restroom with running water. They recently installed a well so bring a container to fill up! Never been offroading in a school bus, so that was a first for me!

Our group met the bus, and we were warmly welcomed. There was a 15-minute video of the construction of the statue. It was very helpful to get important background information. The ride up to the statue was 12 miles (six on hard road, six on very rough dirt and rock road). The driver gave us great detail and plenty of time to pause, take photos, enjoy the scenery (through the fog and drizzle), and even return to the statue for a few minutes. We made it back to the HQ before sunset.

We checked in early and proceeded to the movie. After the movie, I went to the restroom and got on the bus at 9:56. Once on the bus, my husband said Vicki L from the gift shop gave him all kinds of he!! because I did not go directly to the bus after the movie. Vicki went off about needing to be on time and “Butte people have places to be.” I was on time. Now, there were four people who never made it to the movie, and the whole bus waited five full minutes for a lady who was in the restroom. I passed her on my way TO the bus as she was just going that way. Vicki didn’t bother to scold those four people. When we finished the tour I went back and spoke to Vicki. She never apologized and became combative. Her basic attitude was good for you for being on time, because “I have to deal with lot of people and answer when the bus is late.” Our Lady of the Rockies could do better with staff. Vicki has zero people skills and should not be in a customer facing position. I will not give this organization a dime. Vicki is a terrible ambassador for OLR...

Once we got up to the statue, everything was great it’s everything prior to that I am disputing. They jam packed 14 people into this van with an air conditioner, barely working. If you’re traveling with a companion up to the statue, you better be one of the first eight people to get on the van or you will not be sitting together. The last four people getting on the van will have to set at the end of the four benches the previous four couples have already occupied. This was not told to us prior to making the trip. The ride up and down the mountain is a very bumpy ride. Everyone should have been warned prior to making the trip of the mountain. Overall, The experience once you arrive was great and was...
