I have to warn you, this is going to be my first ( and hopefully last) extremely negative review. My dining partner and I have been to so many of Butte's restaurants, and have never had such a terrible dining experience. As we entered the restaurant we noticed it to be about 2/3 full of diners. We were given the table closest to the kitchen. Our waitress came over right away to take our drink order. So far, so good. She returned with our drinks, and wanted to know if we were ready to order. I had a question about the "over 55" menu, and said I would like the chicken fried steak. Not available, she said. Next idea: their pot roast. Not available. Also then rattled off a list of foods not available: baked potato, mashed potato, etc etc... And a no go on most of the veggie choices. My dining partner and I just looked bleakly at each other. We were hungry though, so we decided to remain and just order burgers. I am not fond of french fries, so I ordered tater tots with my meal. Our order took maybe 20 minutes to arrive. Mine was loaded with French fries. I reminded the waitress that I had ordered tots. She said she would check in the Kitchen. After another twenty minutes, she brought out a huge serving of tots on a platter. Way too much! Plus I had to eat them with my fingers as we had never received any napkins or silverware at our table. She offered a refill of soda to my companion. She was pretty fast getting it. But after eating as many tots as I could, I asked her for about a half of a glass refill of my soda. After waiting for over 15 minutes and receiving no soda refill, we decided to go ahead and leave. I went over and paid for our meal, and did not leave her a tip. I am a strict tipper. Tipping is NOT an "inalienable right". I love to tip well...but the server must deserve it. Ours did not deserve any... No cutlery, no napkins, no coming by the table to check if we needed anything. No service in a timely manner. I have never had such poor service at an eatery here in Butte. It was bad enough having such poor menu options, but our server just made a bad situation worse. I am not sure that we will return there. It was the second worst dining experience in my...
Read moreStayed at Best Western and this place was connected so it made it convenient. That's about the only good thing I can say. Our waitress appeared to have an attitude as I had asked her if the iced tea was brewed and not instant.
She seemed to take offense as she took our order and I had asked for an extra glass of ice as most places, the tea is not very cold and the little bit of ice given melts quickly.
She brought the teas and no extra glass of ice, she came across as it was a huge bother. We didn't ask for lemon but there was lemon wedge inside the glass...what would she or the manager have done had we been allergic to lemons????? I mentioned the extra glass of ice again and shortly after, a male waiter brought it out.
Dad ordered eggs benedict and I ordered a club. The club was very dry, had hardly any mayo on it. Onion rings were brought out with some nasty tasting ranch dressing on the side (seriously????) and another ranch on the side with my club and fries. This combo made no sense. The waitress did not ask if anything else was needed, so the male waitress came out and I had to ask him for mayo.
The woman waitress went around to her other customers inquiring if anything else was needed. Not with us. Dad and I were going to order dessert and ask for a refill on our teas but she had laid our bill on the table and never said a word. Since she felt we were not worth her time or better service, she did not receive a tip.
When we paid our bill, the male waiter asked how our meal was. I told him it was "OK". He asked what could have made it better, I told him, "A waitress that would have taken the time to ensure we had everything we wanted or needed, a less than friendly attitude, no refills on our "bottomless iced teas" and the chance to see if we had wanted dessert". He apologized and watched as I pressed 0 tip.
We will not be back. Dad and I usually give more than the "required" percentage of a tip, but when we get subjected to a unfriendly waitress/waiter, have to ask for something more than once when the place is not overly busy and the waitress/waiter do not ask if dessert or refills are wanted, FORGET IT...we will not tip for...
Read moreAsked server about a couple different items which she steered us away from. She stated the steak sometimes is very thin when ordering the steak and eggs and when we finally settled and asked, which was better potatoes or hashbrowns she said it depends on what day it is and how they’re cooking them. She then said today seems like the hashbrowns are coming out crispy which makes them good. so I went ahead and ordered them. They were raw and my over medium eggs were hard. Sent it back and ordered a raspberry muffin which was dry as could be, because it was microwaved too long. Waitress cleared our plates and asked if we wanted anything else and I said no and she said have a good day while pushing the bill she brought out when bringing our original meal towards me. Went to pay and told the cashier along with another cashier and a manager that I didn’t eat and explained the experience and the manager waited until we were done speaking and started talking to our cashier about table seating and completely ignored us. The cashier gave us 20% off even though I sent back the plate of food that I had only taken a couple bites from along with one bite out of a hard dry raspberry muffin. So my husband paid $34.69 for his breakfast plate (he had potatoes which were good) and 2 ice teas and the manager didn’t say a dang thing. They should’ve removed my plate (especially since 99% of it was still there) and the muffin but the manager was too busy ignoring us. So dissatisfied and disappointed. I decided to read the reviews and there’s good and bad and I noticed anyone who had a problem Perkins response was thanks for bringing this to our attention we strive to do better. Not once did Perkins ask the customer to call to provide a gift card or anything to help reconcile the...
