First and last time vending at the Canyon County Fair. Its always a gamble vending. Sometimes there's lots of traffic and sometimes there isn't. But when your at a relatively large event like the Canyon County Fair, you don't expect to be staring off into space the majority of the time. We talked with our neighbor vendors and they too had issues with the lack of traffic. This is the second time we've been burned by lack of traffic at this particular building. Over $400 vendor fee to sit and do nothing a good chunk of the time.
Not only that but on our last day, upon entering the grounds and showing our bands, we were met with an extremely rude lady at the gate who was with the fair. She got on us about how the fair was "cracking down" on people not wearing their wristbands on their wrist. We have them on our lanyards for 2 reasons.
We don't wear stuff on our wrists due to swelling throughout the day.
We need to be able to swap out team members to give each other breaks.
When we asked if we were expected to wear them every day all day for 4 days even when we're off the fairgrounds, she rudely snapped, didn't even let me finish and said "I'm just relaying what they told me and we are going to be enforcing this heavily next year" So. Didn't get to explain, didn't answer my question, and cut me off. Clearly she wasn't interested in our concerns.
How about giving vendors a different color wristband so we don't get press-ganged at the gate? Or better yet, give us BADGES like any other event to distiguish between fairgoers and vendors.
Not that it matters to US anymore specifically, but if the Canyon County Fair doesn’t want to continuously lose more business with other vendors, it's just one of MANY things you lot may want to...
