US Storage Centers — Local services in Calimesa

Ever since this company was bought out it has been nothing but problems. From constantly having to reset up auto pay (6 times) due to some billing issue, to what seems like the every other month rate increase. I just received notice that they are raising my unit rent from $210 a month to $294 a month starting December first. That's an $84.00 increase in one month. Mind you when I first rented the unit I start off at $150.00 a month. I would advise anyone looking for a storage location to avoid this please like the plague. They seem set on gouging their costumers to the breaking point. See attached notice-

Although we strive to give you the best storage rental value for your money, it has become necessary to increase the rental rate on your unit to keep up with the supply and demands of the market, the ever increasing costs of doing business (i.e. taxes, utility increases, inflation, property improvements, increasing vendor costs and upkeep). This letter is to serve as your thirty (30) day notice for a rental rate change on your unit noted above. Your monthly rent for the space will change from $210.00 to $282.50 per month. The new Rental rate will be in effect starting with your payment due on or after December 1, 2024. If you are participating in our Protection Plan Program, the rate has not changed and is still $12.00 per month. Your New Total Monthly Payment Including Protection Plan and Tax (if applicable) will be $294.50

been using this place for a year,, went to get something out of storage and my unit had been broken into,, the lock appeared to be on the door, when i lifted the door, the unit was in shambles,, all my boxes had been cut open and trashed,,, missing lots of things,, the management did a incidence report and took pictures,, I have my own insurance so they did nothing, Nobody else had my key, no one knew i had this unit,, they didnt understand why the lock was not broken,,, I had a heavy duty lock on it,, most of my christmas decorations are gone among other things,, I asked about the cameras and security,, was told about a month ago someone broke the gate,,, I was never notified about a breach in security,,,Iam giving my notice and getting whats left of my items out of there,,,they said usually robbers break the lock,, mine was evidently picked or someone has a master key,,, or broke in from an attached unit,,,they didnt seem to care,,, very, very...

Half of my stuff was damaged by rodents and roaches from another renter as well as leaks from the roof. i made sure to let them know that the roof leaked and was told they would look into it. the rent went up twice while i was there which was under a year and i had to take everything out due to not affording to pay for the rental increases. Also must have renters insurance to rent, at least i had to show proof of renters insurance. as i was moving out also so many people were in and out that it became difficult to complete move out in one day. was told they sprayed often for the rodents and bugs, roaches.. i had never had a problem with either previously! Staff was friendly. price was high, hard to make it before the gates closed due to the season change of gate times closing! i gave up and tossed half of my belongings in the trash, better to sell everything...
