We couldn’t contain our excitement walking into Houghton Library — it’s a dream for any English teacher or lit lover. The Emily Dickinson collection was the highlight for me — original poems, family, portraits, and personal items that are just incredible to see up close. There’s so much more to explore, with works from so many other authors and literary treasures around every corner. It’s a beautiful, peaceful space and a must-visit for anyone who loves literature. Super impressive collection, and they offer free detailed intimate tours from very knowledgeable staff - came specifically for the Emily Dickinson collection and it did not disappoint - so many artefacts from her home as well as written originals from a variety of the most famous american authors, and first prints of classic novels.
