I highly recommend Body Evolutions Pilates Studio! I've been a client of Body Evolutions for over 18 years and have worked with Sonia for private lessons, duet lessons, reformer classes and even virtual lessons during Covid. Sonia has an amazing knowledge of musculature and body mechanics that she uses in all of her training.
Eighteen years ago I was in my late 20ās and had spent the past decade in a state of near constant back pain. I'd seen various medical professionals including doctors, physiatrists, chiropractors, orthopedic surgeons, and acupuncturists but none was able to provide lasting pain relief. I was regularly throwing my back out, had chronic back pain, and was unable to lift more than 10 lbs without my low back aching. I was told by one orthopedic surgeon after reviewing my MRIās that I had the spine of a 70 year old (collapsed discs), that I would likely always have pain, and that pilates āmightā help a little. I decided to give Pilates with Sonia a try at the recommendation of a friend from work.
When I started working with Sonia, we began with private lessons. She evaluated my body, the way I moved, and how she thought she could help me. She began working with me, teaching me the techniques and focusing on careful precise movements using specific muscles. Once I learned those techniques I was able to take the classes and feel confident that I was doing the exercises correctly so that I would not injure my back. I saw marked improvements in my low back pain, my flexibility, and my overall physical fitness. Over the years she helped me understand my body better, got me past my era of chronic pain, and brought me to the point where I now feel strong and fit and can move confidently without fear of reinjury. Iām now 48 years old and I no longer have back pain - AT ALL.

At that time, I thought I was meeting an immediate goal of strengthening my core; maybe lose a few pounds. What I learned, and found in Sonia, was an amazing teacher & instructor who taught me so much more. I felt my body change and learned I didnāt want to not attend, for too many days, at a time! Still a Five+ Star studioāļøāļøāļøāļøāļø Iāve moved from the Bay area and miss Sonia and Chris, in every way! After 1-2 classes, I felt myself with better posture driving. I found myself sitting straighter and more aware of my body. After (and before) fifteen years, Pilates is a part of my life and well being. I owe so much to Sonia, from my very beginning. Both Sonia and Chris are excellent teachers. I still self correct because Sonia is āin my earā I am so blessed at 72 to be strong, balanced, capable, and able, to keep learning!
