Worst experience I've ever had with alterations. She only did half the alterations we discussed and I paid for in full. She didn't hem the top layer of my wedding dress or shorten my veil as promised and I went in TWICE for those measurements with my shoes and family members in tow who witnessed the whole process. The day of my wedding I tripped on my dress constantly and had to carry it all night. The bustle was weak and useless. My dress and the dress bag smelled musty because of the poor conditions of her shop. When I called to talk to her about it she said she was busy and would call me back. After 3 days of calling I finally got her back on the phone. She berated me for asking for a refund and threatened me with her lawyer for making accusations. She denied everything. Once I told her I had proof (photos and measurements from purchasing) and would happily bring along my lawyer to settle this she offered to refund me less than half and I had to go pick it up in cash because she doesn't know how to refund on her credit card machine. All this after she told me she had been sick for the past few days but was still taking appointments. I'm appalled at the unprofessionalism and poor service. Check out the attached photos of my hem. Karen does great work! She was recommended by my husband's aunt, who had taken her girls' dresses there for years. I am so glad I listened! Karen is honest about what would look good, keeps her calm when something comes up (such as a corset needed to be added the month before), and is every bit as excited for your big day as you are. She's both professional and responsive, and I never had to worry about something not being done on time. She added a bustle, corset, and hook and eye, hemmed seven layers, fixed the hook and eye that was already there and steamed it (free when she alters the dress.)

Karen is truly the BEST! From the moment I walked into her place I knew I was going to love her! She is such a sweet and warm-hearted woman! Also, she is hilarious and a blast to be around! I’ve been there multiple times for bridesmaids dresses, to my husbands pants being hemmed, to trusting her with my wedding dress.

I brought my dress in to her one day. She says how are you doing, I respond with I’m nervous. She says back, “why are you nervous? Your dress is going to be PERFECT when I’m done with it” ... and let me tell you, that is just what I needed to hear and she was not wrong.
