We were ready to have a delicious lunch at Sister's but never ate. We called ahead for 14 of us and walked in at 11am. It was not crowded. The first group of 7 walked in first and sat by the front door. The second group walked in and sat in the back. The first group got water and food orders taken.
The second group in back got their orders and were fed and paid and left at noon.
The waitress brought water to table 1. After an hour we asked where the food was. We were told they had a big pick up order and fell behind. No one walked by the door to pick up any order and in that hour they never apologized or brought rolls and butter or crackers or even stopped by our table and acknowledged us. At 12:10 we asked about the food again and they said about another 10 minutes. Still no apology. Three of the group left hungry at 12:20. They 100% forgot our table. Our server soon appeared, and I ordered the chicken fried steak and my wife, the Kookie. This is basically eggs, meat, toast, and hash browns. The food came out of the kitchen quickly. My steak serving was quite large. It was also served with eggs and hash browns and toast. The steak was seasoned well and went great with the gravy. The gravy was tasty and not pasty. Hash browns are how I like them, a bit crispy and not mushy. There are no exotic breakfast dishes, but the food is hearty and flavorful. We sat at a booth. The booth has seen better days and was in need of new upholstery, but that did not distract from the meal. The restaurant sits right alongside the Ohio and Erie canal and you can overlook the park. Service...
Read more"BEST BREAKFAST with AWESOME, FRIENDLY SERVICE!!!" I was impressed. Had some of the BEST BREAKFAST I have had in a while any where. I highly recommend the "Really Stuffed Omelette." It was really stuffed, fresh and tasty. Need to mention that the Home Fries and Bacon are great too. Great portions. The service was friendly and cheerful. Just the kind of service you'd expect in a small rural town. The dining room has a nice view of the canal. This restaurant is favored by the locals. I noticed that they have won multiple awards for "BEST BREAKFAST" and other categories over the last few years, given by the Beacon Journal. This is a MUST GO TO, for breakfast and home cooked eats. I have been coming here for years. Always a joy to keep coming back. Never...
