The Toys Time Forgot — Local services in Canal Fulton

Amazing collection of vintage and newer toys with a little something for everyone. Prices are a bit high; from my experience, most items can be found cheaper on Ebay or Amazon. Still, very fun to explore thier collection. My only complaint, and this is deal breaker for me, is the customer service is horrendous. First off, an employee will ALWAYS follow you around the store. I can understand the need to protect against theft, but at times it can become quite uncomfortable with someone constantly over your sholder as you're trying to explore the store with someone. Secondly, employees ask you to put items back the exact way they were. For example, this store is extremely small and cramped. Items are stacked on top of each other to make room. Its a little chaotic and sometimes things fall over or a customer won't stack the items the exact way they were before they picked something up. I understand it can be frustrating for an employee to have to clean up after a customer (I used to work in a grocery store)...BUT THATS WHAT YOU GET PAID FOR! Instead of fixing the store with a smile, the employee will ask you to put things back the way you found them. They ask that! Of a paying customer! I have been asked this by an employee of this store on two separate occasions. Both times I declined to make purchases I had intended because I was insulted. I work in the customer service industry myself and if I or any of my employees would ever behave in this fashion, we'd no longer have a job. Only ONE employee has done this to me and the people I've been with, but seeing as he is a representative of the store, I feel there is a fundamental lack of customer service throughout. I can’t even explain how incredible this shop is - I am from Southern California and I kid you not, this is the BEST vintage toy shop I’ve ever seen. And, I have been to every vintage toy shop you can imagine and as a serious, very knowledgeable vintage toy collector - THIS IS THE BEST. The service is unmatched, the owners and those working are not only some of the nicest people I’ve met, but true fans of the toys from every time period. I teared up, literally, seeing so much from my childhood, and knowing I’d have to take several items home to California. We are going back tomorrow, because it was just a true privilege to see such care taken with these treasures from childhood and beyond. The shop is stunning, organized, well laid out, and I spent hours in there just staring and feeling JOY. I feel honored to have been there and I can’t wait to come back every time I visit my mom in Ohio. THIS PLACE IS THE BEST STORE I HAVE EVER SEEN. Everything you can imagine, if you loved it, they have it — in perfect condition, complete, clean and you get to talk toys with the incredible staff. I am serious when I say I feel it was a gift to just be there. Thank you guys for an unforgettable experience and the highest quality service there is. I am a huge fan of vintage toys, but now a huge fan of this store...

Horrible experience. First off as we pulled up and was waiting to make a turn into the store a car coming the other direction pulled into the spot and I noticed the license plate said "Toyman 1" forcing us to go around the block to find another parking spot. When we walked up to the door we were told we would have to wait due to the store being at maximum capacity due to the Corona virus. So we waited outside in the pouring rain. When we waited under the awning near the door that provided us very little coverage from the rain until someone left. As we tried to enter we were than told that we could not enter due to my mom wearing a face shield and not a face mask. We were told there was some news story about how they are not safe and we were not permitted In. So we went back to our car and as we were looking for other things to do we noticed a family of 5 walk to the door (none of them had any mask what so ever) and they entered and stayed inside the store for 10 minutes before leaving. The only thing we can think of was they were discriminating because my mom is heavier and didn't want her in the store. Later when we were talking my mom said she now knows how black people felt when they were turned away when...
