On my way back, I stopped at Speakeasy Coffee Shop in Canal Fulton, a charming little haven perfect for a quick escape from the cold.

The Barista Magic: Moriah, the friendly barista, greeted me warmly and prepared my go-to drink—a London Fog (tea latte) with a delightful twist: a pump of chocolate. The combination was heavenly! 🍫🍵

I haven’t been to Speak Easy in 5-6 years but my friend and I both wanted a little coffee before we went on a walk on the towpath.

I had been previously and was never that impressed but I was feeling hopeful that the coffee quality improved.

We were greeted with a bright hello from the girl that was making the coffees at the time and were helped pretty quickly but the girl that took our order was not friendly at all. I won’t hold this against her because she may have just been having a bad day but she seemed to just not want to be there at all.

We both ordered caramel machiattos and if I’m being honest they weren’t even drinkable. The drink looked like creamer with a splash of weak iced coffee in it…. When drinking it you couldn’t taste ANY coffee.

I’m also not sure if the girl even made it correctly because it didn’t look like a macchiato but more like a latte.

I love the vibes in this coffee shop and I love all the little things they sell but unfortunately they really lose me on the quality of the coffee. I will definitely give them another try just because sometimes it’s convenient but I think I will try something...

Service - amazing: Staff are always friendly, competent and quick. Can’t remember any time where my order was messed up or I didn't receive my coffee drink/food quickly and with a smile.

Food choices - above and beyond: They have more options than what you would expect. The food is delicious and include baked goods as well as bagel breakfast sandwiches, which are all wonderful. The prices are the least expensive while providing high quality items.

Atmosphere - best around : Fast free wifi, usually quiet easy place to crack open a laptop and study. Warm and cozy, very comfy leather and cloth furniture, as well as tables and large booth. Two large open areas, plenty of choices for seating.

Overall this place is the best coffee shop around, truly impressed. The only thing stopping this place from being a complete donkey ride to heaven is the lack of a fireplace. No biggie… Don’t think they can help...
