Miller-Doan Tavern — Restaurant in Canal Fulton

3 stars for a great location great decor but... Horrible service! Horrible food! After going inside the lady behind the bar said have a seat anywhere you would like the server will be right out... After sitting a few minutes nothing yet. Another group of people came in grab their own menus sat down on the patio(same area we have been sitting in) I asked them if we should grab our own menus. They said yeah. So my husband went back inside to get the menus so we could start looking still no service after about a 10-15minutes of being there. Finally a server comes out and gets the order for the table that came AFTER us. After about 25 mins we finally were able to get a drink and place our order. The server had no knowledge about the menu. During this time a third party came to the patio. The server was very quick with their service. The server refilled all of parties drinks two times befor she ever came over to our table to see if our drinks were empty and at this time my drink was gone for over a half hour!! Not sure if it is because we had pop and they had alcohol....The food finally came after waiting a hour or so. The food was luke warm not impressed not to mention all of the hair/roots(not sure what it was) in my mashed potatoes. Thankfully they did take my meal off of the bill as they could not explain what it was I was pulling out of my food!! The chef came out said he has never seen anything like that befor he was sorry.. I would not recommend eating...

The town of Canal Fulton Ohio has several great places where you can grab a delicious burger like Cherry Street Creamery, The Barrel Room, The Canal Boat Lounge and Miller-Doan Tavern. My family has lived in Canal Fulton for over a year now and we have finally grabbed some grub from Miller-Doan Tavern, which is a charming Tavern located in the heart of Canal Fulton right off of Cherry Street. They have a full service bar and they have indoor seating and some outside seating as well. We ordered our food from DoorDash with a dash pass we got a 20% discount of select items. I ordered the Cowboy Burger which is served with onion petals, cheddar cheese, barbecue sauce, and steak fries. The Cowboy Burger was straight fire very scrumptious. My wife and our best friend both ordered the Tavern Smashburger which they said was very tasty. Lastly my daughter ordered Barbacoa Tacos which is Two seasoned beef tacos on corn tortillas with melted cheese and pico de gallo, Served with chips and salsa and my son ordered a chicken quesadilla. Both kids loved their food and that both entrees were very tasty. I would definitely recommend Miller-Doan Tavern for anyone who either lives in Canal Fulton or is driving through Canal Fulton, because they have great food and their prices don’t...

Very nice atmosphere, very clean. Quieter than I thought it would be. After a 6-mile walk on the towpath a cold beer tasted great. The staff was very pleasant. I ordered the perch basket which consisted of 3 thin pieces of perch and a handful of flat french fries, no cole slaw. I would say it was good, but I've had much better. Thicker pieces and better breading would be an improvement. The fries were nothing special either. I would consider trying something else on the menu or just stopping in for a cold one. Back again on 11/7/19. Waitress was very pleasant and was able to assist me immediately with the beer selection from memory. The Fat Head Strange Magic beer was very tasty, I had a 2nd one. Tried a burger this time. Sorry to say I was not impressed. The meat was dry and bland, not fresh tasting. Hard for me to understand how you can screw up something as simple as a burger. The other 2 people in my party ordered a fajita salad and butterflied shrimp. They liked their choices. Manager offered to make it right with the burger next time. I will take him up...
