Canton Marketplace — Local services in Canton

Very unwelcoming to outsiders. I drove 6 hours out of my way to come to this event and I had nothing but push back since the moment I arrived.

Less then 5 minutes after pulling into the parking lot, as I'm actively setting up my cart, they approached me at my cart and told me their "free parking till 7pm lot" is only for customers. So I said OK. And they followed it with, "so you have to be buying things." And I said OK, I'm about to head in.

I walked into the front doors and was speaking with the very first vendor for a good 10+ minutes, they then asked me what I do for work. I told them I sell gemstones and jewelry, and showed them a sample I had on hand, I didn't even ask them if they wanted to buy any. The manager was standing behind me listening to our conversation and kicked me out due to corporate policy. I told him the other guy asked me what I do and that I didnt initiate the question, he still kicked me out. I wasn't even at the show for 10 minutes and they were so hungry to kick me out for anything they could find.

After reading the other reviews, it seems they are recovering from bankruptcy. I'm fairly well traveled and could see how flea markets could be struggling in 2025. Perhaps management should be a little more welcoming to tourists who drive out...

Canton Marketplace is a wonderful place since the old manager quit. The new General Manager Ron and the Assistant Manager Kristi have really turned this place around. Several new AC units have been added to guarantee relief from our hot Texas summers, ALL of the lighting inside and out has been replaced, the numerous leaks in the roof have been repaired and the Fall and Christmas decorations are amazing including all of the Christmas lights that have been installed on the outside of the building! It was just a dark, unassuming building before and now it really stands out! All it took was a great management team and a little hard work! The building is almost completely full of wonderful vendors and the shopping experience is so much better! Music is playing, the vibe is calm and relaxing and the new management is always walking around checking on vendors and taking care of business in such a positive and professional manner. Corporate really brought class back to the venue with the much needed change in management! Kudos to Ron and Kristi for breathing life back into this place before it was too late! Such a great place...

From my experience here it is very very amazing. Since there is a BBQ here the vendors and visitors can have somewhere to eat for breakfast, lunch, and dinner or even snacks! I love how everyone gets to do what they love and get money for it. Also one of my family members is a vendor here so I visit him every so often. Almost forgot to mention that I share the booth with him too. I would suggest the Canton Marketplace for people how want to start a small business. Because you can buy a booth and put decor here and there BUT you can't paint the walls unfortunately. But anyways the reason I only put 4 stars is because my family members booth has well... not so great lookin walls I mean you can cover it with posters and stuff but at least you should paint the wall and not leave it blank with where the glue was I mean it is not a clean look. But don't worry I am sure that some of the other booths look nice. Well anyways there...
