We are locals and do a lot of traveling, one of my favorite things is to try out distilleries, breweries and winery's when in a new area. So I was excited when a new distillery opened in our own town. The dĂŠcor is great, bright and beachy. They are very new and only have 3 liquors to taste, Rum, Vodka and a Bourbon Whiskey. However, the tasting experience was nominal. There wasn't much talk to lead up to the tasting, no excitement or history. Just would you like to taste some and which ones? Then served in little mini plastic shot glasses. The tasting specialist did ask how we liked them and then did talk a little about them. The whole tasting process went quickly. Note we did not chose to do the tour at this time but planned to do it another time, I'm sure the owner who gave the tour would have presented the journey in a different manor. There are lots of tables in addition to the tasting bar, so it looks like they want you to sit a while and enjoy. They did explain that they did not yet have the ability to sell drinks. They could sell a mixer for $7 and give us a shot (1 ounce) that we could pour into the mixer, but they couldn't touch it. This is perfectly fine, however $7 dollars seemed a little pricey. Especially when you are trying to build your interest in your product. They did say they would be opening their kitchen soon with a limited menu of items, but never offered any sneak peak at what them would be. I've been to a lot of distilleries across the country, most offer a tasting at a cost with logo tasting glasses you can keep, this covers there cost of the glass and advertises their product even after the guest leaves. I have some suggestions for the owners, find a unique tasting glass (printed with logo if you can afford the cost), charge for the tasting (make the tour free), talk up the liquors one at a time, then taste and move to the next liquor. Once you can serve drinks made with your liquors, make sure the price stay lower for basic mixers and come up with some craft liquor specialty drinks you can sell for a higher price. Check out the menu of a small distillery in Iowa called Mississippi River Distilling, they have this down. Tourist are coming back and your establishment could be a great attraction. We will be back and actually purchased a bottle of their bourbon which I enjoyed. The rum was very good as well. Check it out if you are in the area. We want them to be successful, it's a great addition...
Read moreSlightly late writing my review, but wanted to share what a fantastic distillery Oceanside is. Came as part of a family trip to Cocoa Beach (adult child and parents) in early January 2025. Super kind and welcoming staff and owner and fantastic spirits and drinks! They offer various tasting flights of their spirits, mixed drinks, and spirits by the bottle to take home. They also have a great selection of food for snacks or even a full casual meal. They also will let you have a little taste of a spirit if there is one you didn't get to try in a flight. Our favorites were the coconut rum, coffee rum, citrus gin, and limoncello. Mixed drinks were fantastic as well. Highly recommend the key west north cocktail, and if you like coconut and coffee flavored rum, ask the bar tender for their special off menu cocktail. It's their coconut and coffee rums mixed with a vanilla cold foam. It was amazing! Definitely check out Oceanside Distillery if you're...
Read moreI think we are in love! What a great place, we were in the area and decided to stop in for a tasting - we are on a rum trail of FL rum distilleries!đ After sitting at the bar I asked Alison(?) if we could share a tasting... Sure! As rums go (we being Bourbonites) it wa good, but the Coconut and Cool Brew were the best.. they Alison suggested mixing the two, omgosh, it was hook line and sinker! We then ordered the Almond Joy martini, it was good; then she mentioned they had 'coffee' beans... soaked in rum - a girl after our own heart. So after the tasting we bought a bottle of each - Coconut & Cool Brew... and this morning are enjoy our rum distilled coffee beans at home! [Hint: when you brew your Cool Brew cafè, add a tsp of Creme de Coconut.. a whole different world!!!] Oceanside Distillery is definitely a place to add to your list to go when in the...
