General Hotel Rating - 4/5 All basic and expected amenities are available. There is plentiful well-lit parking as well as a pool, gym, and basketball court. The design is pleasant - upscale beachy. The pool a little nicer than expected but not resort quality. There is only one ice machine and don't trust the laundry detergent dispensers to have detergent even if they don't show empty.
Breakfast - 4/5 The options provided are on par with what you would find at other Marriott properties that provide breakfast. There are several hot and cold options and some variety from day-to-day. The coffee is good!
Staff - 5/5 Everyone we interacted with, from front desk to maintenance to breakfast services, were very friendly and helpful. Maintenance was very quick to respond to a request.
Room - 3/5 Room layouts were nice. The kitchen had all basic appliances, and all seemed to be working and functioning well. Specifically in regards to the two bedroom suite, I would have liked to have seen a king and 2 queen layout option. The sofa bed looked very uncomfortable (plastic feeling) and looked cheap. The TV's needed to be updated. You have to Hulk-smash remote control buttons to get them to work. The bathrooms have good lighting, hair dryer, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and bar soap. However, the choice of where to put the mounted bottles of shampoo, conditioner, and body wash on the wall of the shower was very inconvenient. They are placed directly in the middle of the back wall rather high up. Every time you lift your arms to wash your hair etc. you hit them. The water pressure is good. The mattresses are okay; have a bit of a dip and are pretty soft.
Cleanliness - 2/5 The inner shower curtain liner snaps off for easy change between guests. Ours clearly had not been replaced as there were boogers all over it. Underneath the bed corner was a pile of crumbs from crackers or pretzels, or something similar, indicating a lackluster vacuuming job. Further, there were cob web ls in the corner of the room. Overall, it felt like things could have been wiped down a little better. The linen seemed clean, and overall, the kitchen seemed clean. Generally, throughout the hotel, things seemed neat and tidy enough to be at least average. The pool seemed to be clean and in good repair. Finally, trash left out in the hallways was promptly removed.
Overall, we would stay here again and recommend it to others.

Read moreWe have stayed at this Residence Inn several times in the past couple of years; each time utilizing the "snooze, park, and cruise" option (where we are allowed to park our car on hotel property and take the shuttle service to the Disney cruise port). Each previous hotel stay has been a wonderful experience, and if you are just staying at the hotel (and not taking a shuttle to the cruise ports), your experience will most likely be fine.
During this most recent stay, however- without any early notice- the hotel informed us that the shuttle service time had changed from it's normal 10:00-10:30am time to 9:30am. When I informed the front desk that we weren't even allowed in the port that early (we have taken several Disney cruises out of Port Canaveral), the front desk assured me- multiple times- that they now allowed people inside earlier.
We left the next morning at 9:30, and not surprisingly, we were forced to wait outside for over half an hour because the terminal was not open yet! To top it all off, it was RAINING. We have a two year old, and waiting outside in the rain for half an hour was an extremely unpleasant experience. We realize the we had the option to stay later at the hotel and use an Uber, but that shouldn't have been necessary (especially since we paid for the shuttle service). Plus, we trusted the staff when they assured us that the port entry times had changed.
It was an unfortunate way to start our vacation, and I wish we would have been warned ahead of time about the shuttle service time change. I will be calling the Residence Inn in the future; if the shuttle service remains that early, we will not be staying at the hotel again.
That all being said, the rest of the quality and service of the hotel is worth the cost. Everything has always worked, the rooms have always been clean, and the warm breakfast is better than most of the other hotels...
Read moreMy family at I stayed at this Hotel on March 12, 2024. I booked online, but once I arrived I couldn’t find my debit card, so I asked if I could pay with my credit card instead. The front desk clerk said I could & he ran my card no problem. The night manager was great!! The next day, I located my debit card in my vehicle, only to find out an hour later that I had still been charged on that card as well. I contacted the hotel & spoke with someone about both cards being charged & funds being held on both. I also expressed that I was on vacation & set aside a certain amount for hotel expenses. I was told that funds had been released, however they had not. I was told I would have to wait 3-5 days for my money to be put back into my account which completely intervened with my trip.The guy said he would transfer me to the General Manager, he did she didn’t answer I left a message about 10 AM & STILL no call back. I called again & asked to speak with a manager about 6 PM & was told that everyone had left for the day. I asked them to contact the on call supervisor, the lady told me she could not contact anyone, & considering that I’ve worked for Marriott in the past I knew it was a lie. When I expressed to her that I knew she could, she then stated she would txt someone. I asked if I could be accommodated for the night due to them places holds on both my cards & she flat out said there’s nothing they could do. This was such a huge inconvenience, if I did not have anymore money me & my kids would have been sleeping in a car 13 hours away from home so thankfully I came prepared. No one offered to waive parking fees or anything for the inconvenience, I would bluntly told they would not assist.
