Been staying at Hyatt hotels for over 19 years for vacations, if we can we always look to book a nearby Hyatt..And let me say I read all the comments on this place before deciding this needed to be said by someone. I will refrain from using names but I was very upset with the way I watched a middle aged front desk employee who should’ve been the role model and mature act very unprofessional. If it wasn’t for the younger girl with freckles who stayed very professional even though clearly annoyed with her lazy coworker’s blatant rudeness, then I wouldn’t be staying at hyatts anymore and my wife agreed. Give the young girl a raise she deserves it. At check in we watched her take a line of customers while the other one just made comments and pretended to be too busy on the phone to help. Was very disappointed with the situation. Like I said the young girl was polite even tho clearly overwhelmed, while the older worker who may even be her supervisor somehow.. tryed to converse with every customer who stepped forward into the girls line but didn’t lift a finger to help. I usually leave the reviews to my wife but she had stronger words at the time(last month), so we talked about the stay again tonight at dinner. She claimed to have went to the counter herself, and with one person in front of her the older lady stopped mid conversation with said customer and yelled for the younger girls attention while she was clearly busy 10 foot away. My wife only had a question about the upstairs bar. Which we found appealing btw. But in all seriousness I hope that young girl is being compensated for the hard work she’s doing.. company’s are built on hard working kids like her. Whatever you pay her it’s not enough. My wife wanted to leave the night we arrived she claimed we’d never return to a Hyatt.. We agreed the young girl was working to hard for us to not appreciate it even tho we where both frustrated. That girl saved this location from losing two long time satisfied Hyatt customers she earned the 5...
Read moreHORRIFIC! Zero management at this hotel and no one cares one bit! In just ONE day, I experienced an untrained 'fill-in' person at the front desk - with filthy, nasty fingernails - who didn't even know how to rekey room cards (so we had to go BACK later); NO ONE at the 1st Floor bar/restaurant at lunchtime; the inability to leave a message for the GM because his mailbox was full and he, EDDIE DIAZ, was nowhere to be found; and within a span of 15 minutes, I had to phone the front desk 7 TIMES, each time with NO ANSWER after 10-12 rings! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!?! As owners of local businesses for 40 years, I am sickened and repulsed by the lack of service or even CARE about doing the job for which these employees are PAID! Folks, go elsewhere because this place SUCKS! The rooms are overpriced for what they are, they charge a daily parking fee yet have no valets, you'll handle your own luggage, and if you expect to find something to eat at the restaurant here, you'll find NO ONE to serve you. Not sure why they even bother to open the doors because this is NOT a place that knows the meaning of 'hospitality industry.' NEVER AGAIN. This wannabe hotel has ZERO standards and ZERO management. Worse still, no one even cares that customers are being ignored. I can't wait to see this dump be forced to shut its doors. They don't deserve to be...
Read moreThe new Hyatt Place Cape Canaveral has a lot to recommend it: Clean, new facilities, furniture and linens Free parking (as at most Hyatt Places) A location close to the beach and to watch rocket launches A laundry room with 2 new front loader washers and 2 new dryers, charging a very reasonable $1.50 for wash and the same to dry A friendly and helpful staff
It also has some areas for improvement: The WiFi at its best provided a mere 6 MBPS download speed and all too often a completely unusable 0.6 MBPS (upload speeds were similar). The general manager, Eddy, kindly offered to move to a different room, but my experience walking the hall found no differences. This really must be fixed immediately, or the hotel will lose its business customers. This is the first time I have encountered a charge for breakfast ($11) at any Hyatt Place. As a Globalist, I did not have to pay it, but I wonder why this and only this Hyatt Place charges for breakfast. The hotel has no suites, only guest rooms, which I have not seen at very many other Hyatt Places. They therefore have no upgrades to offer Globalists. This issue almost...
