This hotel went above and beyond. Let me explain... Please read til the end. My family had just got off a cruise and went to our car that we had parked at the port. Our vehicle would not work, it said something about reduced engine power. We tried to get help from thr parking attendant to other guests walking by with no luck. We called local mechanics and because it was the weekend there wasn't much available. We found 1 guy who said he could try and help but the shop closes at 2. With it only being 10ish we had lots of time. Called AAA we are from Canada and it was a pain to use in the United States. Finally got the car started. We decided to just get out of the underground parking lot where we had terrible cell service, and get to a Walmart/gas station or whatever was close by and try AAA again. We get out of the parking lot and we immediately end up on an Interstate. We could not accelerate. To make a long story short, we waited on the side of the road for just under 2 hours with our kids. We felt unsafe and made the decision to put our four ways on and get anywhere we could that was off the side of the road. We found a hotel a few minutes away. The kids and I went inside and my husband stayed in the parking lot trying AAA again as they has trouble locating us. I talked to the girls at the Desk (Jewel & Nancy) I told them what our morning had been like and how much would a night be as we will most likely have to stay as it was now noon. They sympathized and said they would give us a room for the best price they could. I said I would let her know soon. We used the bathroom and sat in the lobby. Jewel offered for my kids to go grab a drink from the breakfast around the corner as it was still out. Very sweet. Shortly after she came out amd said they could go have breakfast too but to hurry as they would be packing up soon. They grabbed something small each but again very sweet of her. As time went on, I talked to my husband who was having no luck we just decided to stay. Keep in mind we were supposed to be driving back to Canada. We pay for a room, she offers us a great room she said for thr nest price. We get in the room, uts big, it's clean, the air conditioning was amazing. We had a king bed and the kids each had their own bed in this little decorated fort like area with a TV. They loved it. It was nice to unwind and destress. I decide to do some laundry from our trip while I'm waiting. Genesis I thunk is the manager- not even knowing our story offers me a couple of laundry pods-so nice of him. I do a few loads of laundry the kids are making our extremely situation less stressful as they are loving the room. Fast forward with no luck with AAA Mt husband takes out thr car a few times in thr area. No sign popping up and seems to be fine. We'll call back home to our mechanic friends and explain we won't be a le to see a Mechanix now until Monday and the car seems okay now, do you think we could try driving it home. Both guys said yes. We were both happy but frustrated as we just spent a lot of money to stay for 2 hours at this hotel and now we are checking out. I talk to Jewel to see if there was a way they could only charge part of the fee as again we were only in it for 2 hours. again she sympathized but said the room would still have to be cleaned. Which is true and fair. Earlier my husband had talked to Genisis about vehicles and out situation. He was not at the front desk as were checking out. Jewel Said she would be right back. she came back and said Genesis told her not to charge us and they hope we make it home safe. After an extremely scary and stressful morning this hotel and its amazing staff showed us complete kindness. I will never forget this. We have been staying at other hotels in the area previously, but you have found new customers for life. Thank you Thank you thank you.

Our visit started on a Sat night. We booked the room because we were leaving on a cruise on Monday and needed a suite that would sleep my husband and I and our three young boys. I was looking for the closest room I could find to the cruise ship port and this room happened to be available.

One of my sons slept on the couch on the front room while the other two slept in the back room with us. That night, I heard tons of loud banging on a door and figured that we had drunk neighbors who had locked themselves out of their room. We were exhausted from a 13 hour drive and it NEVER occurred to me that all the banging on the door was OUR room. The next morning, my son that that slept on the couch informs me that there was a lady in our room that night. She had been given the key to our room and unlocked the door fine. However, the safety bar had been thrown so she started pushing and banging on the door to get in. My son told her this was our room and for a moment, she closed the door. She then used her key to again open the door, started yelling that it’s her room and then managed to unlock the safety lock and COME IN THE ROOM! My son argued with her that this was our room and she needed to leave. He said “mommy- I didn’t want to wake you up” but told her, he would wake us all up if she didn’t leave.

She finally left and went down the front desk. I approached the front desk the next morning- and the front desk clerk confirmed they had accidentally given someone a key to my room and that she needed to “look into how it happened.” She said she would comp our room for the previous night only. I told her we were leaving on a cruise the next day, and that at this late notice there was no where else we could get a room, not to mention that had already arranged to park there. So we stayed one more night- of which I stayed on the couch by the door and barely slept- nervous about someone coming in our room again. She discounted that night but in truth- it should have been comp’ed as well. That front desk person put my family, and my children’s safety at risk and for that alone- I would never stay at or recommend this resort. Accidents can happen- but giving a crazy lady the key to our room in the middle of the night- these things should not happen. And how is it that someone also makes it past a secondary safety lock! When mistakes like that happen- procedures should be put in place that it never happens again. And as a fellow business owner, I would be profusely apologetic. I won’t mention that our room was just plain dirty, carpet was stained and the bathroom floor looked like it had been barely wiped down. The dust in the door panels had to have been there for weeks. However, these things feel trivial given our night there.
I have never written a bad review for a hotel in my life but I will never stay here again. Not your best...

-Hotel was beautiful nice at first glance. Things were slightly dirty or run down after closer inspection. Not in a sense that they were unsanitary. We constantly observed staff cleaning and everything felt "clean". It was more of a run down / dirty. More of a "could use a good deep clean or remodel" in some places. Bathroom shower was a bit eh. More so due to overall condition, not that the staff hadn't cleaned it that day or anything. -Location was perfect for cruising. -We had a rental car and were hit with a surprise $10 parking fee. I am sure it was in my booking somewhere and I missed it. But even for where it is, I am not sure if the parking fee was needed. Maybe just passes for cars so people do not leave them and cruise. Unsure if the money itself was necessary. No big deal though. -All staff, especially the woman that checked us in, was some of the friendliest staff I have ever met at a hotel. I would come back because of the staff.
-Price was reasonable, same as the others in the area and what I would expect to pay there or anywhere else. -Room was spacious for what we booked and expected. We did not need the extra space, but it was a nice surprise. We often travel with 2 kids and would have used the space typically. -The only very negative thing was the breakfast. We do not expect much for a hotel breakfast; but this was pretty bad. Almost inedible. This could have been a personal preference, but typically something is decent. We managed to eat enough to not be hungry. We wouldn't "not go back" because of this. There were the normal spread of options. But I would plan a different breakfast next time. -The shuttle to the cruise was great. The trailer for luggage instead of trying to fit it on the bus was a nice touch. -We could see the pool from our room. It was beautiful. We did not have time to use it or we would have. Did not look gross like most hotel pools. It really did look clean and nice and very few people. Not over crowded. Given it was only about 70-75 degrees. -Overall, nothing went wrong. But the upkeep of the rooms could have been a bit better. (and the breakfast). We would stay there again before or after a cruise and I would happily take my kids there. Just some honest feedback of what we observed. Nothing was bad enough to keep me from coming back, but I would probably explore my other...

I'll just start out by saying this isn't my brand choice. This was a purely logistics driven stay due to a launch at KSC. The street entrance is mostly obscured by construction screens as a new hotel is being built directly in front of the Country Suites. The parking lot was rough and muddy in spots from the ongoing construction. At check-in, we had prepaid billings issues, even though we booked directly through the hotel website. It wasn't entirely resolved to our satisfaction, but we pressed on. We had a room on the third floor and were greeted with an Alaskan chill as the elevator doors opened. The room was as cold, the AC set at 60⁰. I brought it up to a more habitable level. The room appeared clean and in order. The king bed suffered from a huge dip in the middle, which usually translates to an older mattress. The dining area is a fair size and looks out onto the pool. The hot breakfast is as basic as you would expect at this brand level. Self-serve scrambled eggs, a protien, and make your own waffles. There were some bread offerings, including bagels. The seated area is terrible. The picture I took of the torn seat was one of the better ones. Breakfast was, forgettable. I'm glad it was only one night. I took a picture of the non-functional thermostat just because. The upside is that the room was clean and the staff were friendly except at check-in.

Upon arrival our reservation was not available. After driving more than three hours this wasn’t good. We were quoted $109 a night due to the fact we were in a group for a class that was going to be given at the hotel when they got us a room they charged us $279 for the night after Me explaining to them and everything they lowered it to 153. A room was only available for two nights not three. Then said the manager would contact me in the morning as to whether I would get the 109 or not. Of course no-one contacted me. I went down mid morning talked to the supervisor and everything was taken care of.she was very professional and friendly. She is definitely an asset to this hotel. The hotel was clean and the continental breakfast was good however there was very long wait lines due to the fact that this is a very busy hotel being right at port Canaveral. The day of check out while I was in the shower housekeeping opened the door. I didn’t like that at all. Since I was the only one there I hadn’t shut the bathroom door. It really scared me standing in the shower and someone opens the door and comes in. Didn’t say anything and left quickly once they realized someone was still in the room. Why I gave four stars you ask. It’s quite simple, although there were problems the staff took care of them right away. I would recommend this hotel.

My son & I had driven up that day from Key West and were glad to finally arrive at our destination for one night - the Country Inn & Suites by Radisson. We parked for free in the ample car park in front of this establishment. Check in was done quickly and easily with a gentleman who immediately made us feel welcome. As the room wasn't quite ready for us he offered us a couple of bottles of chilled water. My son quickly found the free cookies at reception. Delicious. Anyway, we didn't have to wait long to get established in our room on the 4th floor with all the usual amenities of such a chain. It had everything we needed for a short one night stay. Two comfortable queen beds, desk & chair, bathroom with shower in the bath tub, coffee and tea making, microwave fridge, enough sockets for all our electrical equipment and a good quality free WiFi. We didn't try out the outside pool - it rained the evening we arrived and we didn't have enough time the next morning. Pity. What I appreciated was the helpfulness of the guy at reception. He gave us good suggestions on where to eat for dinner. Location? Not bad for getting to the Kennedy Space Center (sic) the next morning. Breakfast was fairly basic - free of charge so OK. All in all, a nice stopover on our busy schedule of motoring up the east coast of the USA!
