We were in Cape Canaveral for a long weekend of sightseeing and try to find nearby parks for exercise and nature. The city has several tucked in residential areas especially nice for residents who live in high rise buildings.
One of these parks is the Banana River Park on the peaceful Indian River Lagoon with views of cruise ships and very close to another gem, Manatee Sanctuary Park. Both are located in a heavily populated area of Cape Canaveral.
Banana River Park is a small park with two access areas for kayaks, a public restroom, playground, picnic tables, and grills.
While there are signs that say "Animals/Pets Prohibited," the sign also say that dogs are permitted on short leash under the control of the handler.

There is a small play park with a climbing wall, jungle gym and two swings ( no infant/ baby swings). Can see the large cruise ships and hear the clanging from the cruise ship port. Good spot for...
