My boyfriend and I are frequent shoppers at Home Goods and have always had pleasant experiences there until about a month ago when we went in close to Home Goods closing time. We go later in the evening because we are hypersensitive to especially laundry chemicals so we strategically go at a time where we will be less likely to be around shoppers that wear "fragranced" dryer sheets, fabric softeners, etc. We were carrying around a trash can we were purchasing but we decided to put it down on the floor so we could grab something we needed in the next isle over. I saw Janice (older woman with short blonde or white hair) walking by so I told her "We set the trash can we are buying in the next isle over but we will be grabbing it in 1 minute and checking out ASAP - I know you guys close soon." Janice said "OK" and looked angry. A minute later when we went to the isle where we left the trash can, the trash can was gone so we asked a different employee if he could please get the trash can and other items that were with it that we were purchasing. I told him what I told Janice and wish she communicated that message with her coworkers. I had a feeling that Janice might have been displeased that we were checking out at about 10 minutes before closing time. At checkout, Janice was not our cashier, but she noticed that the two wooden cooking spoons (found in the "wood" section where all the wood cutting boards, bowls, etc were) we were buying were untied. What I mean by untied is that we found these spoons laying on top of each other together with a broken twine rope that ties them together so my boyfriend and I assumed they were a 2 pack, especially since they were placed together, inside the twine, even though it was broken. Janice told our cashier it was a 1 pack, not a 2. I looked at the tag and it didn't say anything about a 1 or 2 pack so I said no problem, I'll just take the one spoon. Who knows if Janice was right or not but the point of sharing that is I feel like Janice is unfit for customer service because her energy is not pleasant. Perhaps she was mad that we were checking out so close to closing time but it is no excuse to be rude. I am also in customer service and we all have bad days but the customer should never be treated wrong because of that. We will now avoid the Cape Coral store (which is closer to our home) because of this experience and go to Fort...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreShopped here for the past 4 yrs. At the beginning it was nice to go and find beautiful peices. Every thing was well organized except for the mirrors and wall art which made it a bit difficult to shop that section. Now it's ALL un-shoppable!!! Yesterday you couldn't even walk through most of the store. At least 15 (latin) employees in the back of the store some gossiping about management and some new white girl that had been brought in by someone...they didn't sound too happy. All the Easter stuff is jammed in together, no display is organized it's just a mish mash of items, and its been that way for a while. I am sure lots of products gets damaged, and that is a shame. They need better visual skills or at minimum...
Ā Ā Ā Read morei typically love this store, however iām thinking i will take my business and hard earned money elsewhere. today as i was browsing the store for some things i needed for my new place, a few of the employees followed me around the store, staring at me everywhere i went. my mother in law confronted one of the ladies and asked what the issue was.
the lady looked dumbfounded and said there was no problem at all.. if there was no problem, why would you follow me throughout the store and stare at me everywhere i went?
as i said before, i typically love shopping at this store and have shopped here a bunch of times, but this interaction has made me feel extremely uncomfortable; and quite frankly, makes me never want to...
