I was there last evening to see if I could sell some NICE DRESSY clothes that were clean and folded nicely becauset there was mostly dress pants. The young girl was nice. I went back tonight, they accepted 4 pieces. WONDERFUL! There was 5 employees there. One employee was not busy and was listening to a young girl who was at the counter (don't know if she was selling anything). She saw me and I waited because there was someone else selling and speaking to another employee. This employee asked the not busy girl to take care of me but continued to listening to the other girl. I noticed she looked at me then back to the young girl and when the lady who asked for this employee to take care of me went to tell her again she finally took care of me. I noticed the items they didn't want were not put back as they were when dropped off and I asked this employee about it and she said, "We get so many others and they don't have time to put back as taken out. Well, the pictures are how they looked when I dumped the pile out. Not happy about it at all! I think they should care a bit more (alot more) on how they give the unwanted clothes back. I had taken the time to make sure they were clean and neat so you'd want them. I would expect to get them back the same way. What is your procedure on reviewing clothes? Please...
Read moreI really like the idea of this store. They have some very stylish clothes there for young women and some men clothes as well However, here is my feedback from my first visit. I got the sense they only want you selling there if you are going to spend money there which they are not totally upfront about. I went in to sell some clothes and was asked my name and phone number, no greeting, and then left standing there with no further explanation by a grouchy looking salesgirl. I took in some clothes I had had in storage that had been cleaned before being stored- some pairs of Levi jeans, along with some other brands that I got straight off their website that very week. After having the clothes checked out I was told they were too worn and not in style and they all got rejected. However, there were no tears, no rips, and the brands were all up-to-date according to their website. That is my experience of Plato's Closet after having it recommended to me a multitude of times. I don't think I will be going back, but I think it is...
Read moreThis store operates very efficiently and seems to be very well-managed.
Cleanliness - full marks Organization - 100% Prices - Good compared to brand new Personable staff - severely lacking.
To elaborate, walking in we were only there to see about selling clothes. Unfortunately, we were not greeted by more than a hello and immediate instructions on how to deposit our clothes and what to do. Even as I write this, I've been walking all over this store and not a single employee has asked how I'm doing, even though I was standing in less than a two foot proximity to one. She instead chose to talk to her co-worker in passing.
The date is 8/8/17. I personally don't live near here, so I'm not particularly caring for this staff's attitude, but I'm writing this in hopes for those that do live here are treated better. It seems to be too much work and less person to person communication.
UPDATE* - Upon talking with my girlfriend whom I went there with, she said she shops there all the time and it's never as busy as...
