WoW...Took their basic tour....1 hour of learning about Chuao And Chocolate. YUM..... Did some tasting...Saw their production process. And I've already signed up for their Truffle class. Next class after that is making chocolate bars. I'll do that too! They have events too. Go to their website. They have some fun stuff for Valentine's too. Totally worth the cost of the classes....Hurry. Then you'll be enjoying some outstanding chocolate you've been missing out on...Prices are totally reasonable for the quality......Enjoy!
Tour was so good, I decided to go for the Truffle Class...1/31/20 5pm. hmmmmm....Well it was pretty basic, due to production noises, it was not easy to listen to the tour guide. I think more time and effort into explaining the following would have improved the experience. So once the chocolate is prepared for truffle making I would suggest a few good words of advice: Make small balls so when they go in to cooler, they will "chill" and be usable. If they are not small, they will not have enough time to chill for the next step. Cooler hands for step Two the dipping and rolling in outer chocolate will improve your success. So placing your hands on the cold tray that your chocolates have been cooling on will help do that. You'll pick up the balls, dip them and then dust them so cooler hands will help. Back into the cooler for final set-up...You'll be happier with smaller nickle sized balls.
Too bad after you're done, the store isn't open to make purchases.....might be smart to have everyone shop before the class and before the store closes.
The $15 tour...totally worthit! The $40 truffle...fell short, very short in comparison.....
I'll still be back to make purchases and probably take the tour annually to see your new and different products as you're very imaginative! everyone.....sign up for their emails to learn about...
Read moreI booked 11 tickets for a family reunion, of which only 10 were able to attend the tour. The chocolate was good but the tour was lacking, as we couldn't hear anything for most of the tour. The microphone did not work so the tour guide did the tour without it. She did not make any accomodations to make up for this, like ask if everyone could hear ,or situate herself in the middle of the group so that the people in back could hear. The tour includes a complimentary chocolate bar and the tour guide gave the one that belonged to our missing person to someone who wasn't in our group, even when I brought it to her attention. We paid an additional $15 and the other group received the tasting chocolate and the complimentary bar. I asked after if we could get a refund for that slot and was told no. Certainly not worth the money. Very...
Read moreThe chocolate is amazing and the factory is interesting. They don't talk about chocolate in general, just about the chocolate they make and the history of their particular store. If you like chocolate, this probably isn't for you. This store and it's tour are for chocolate lovers. If you are fine buying a Hersheys bar or the occasional Lindt, then this probably isn't for you. Chuao chocolates are complex and bold flavor combinations that break from mainstream brands. They cost more than your average bar because every piece is an experience in itself. The tour is relatively short, because the factory is small, they have been slowly expanding and only at a pace that allows them to maintain their high standards and not stray away from their passion. I recommend for couples who are looking for a fun Date...
