My son tried Halal Guys and LOVED it...so, I took the other boys and my wife and we tried it - and I agree - it's really, really good! I ordered the gyro/chicken combo - was warned that the regular size is a lot of food, so I got the smaller portion and it was plenty! Love the combo bowl - lettuce, tomatoes, rice, meats topped with that creamy white sauce and a side of pita bread. Now, I will say that I thought it was a little pricey - the larger bowl is basically $9 and the smaller bowl is $8 - add a drink to your meal and you're looking at $15 plus for lunch. I'll definitely go back - probably be a little smarter and get a water and no tip (I'm a tipper, but they don't serve the food or clean up, so I don't see the need for the tip here - correct me if I"m missing something). They also have the typical gyro style meal - all that goodness wrapped in a warm pita. Also noticed that they have spicy lamb (for a limited time) and a spicy sauce you can get instead of the creamy white sauce. So...I went back the next day - small bowl (plenty of food) and water - under $10 for lunch!!! Also added two lines of the spicy sauce...
Read moreThis review is actually to help the staff of this place. I witnessed verbal abuse from the manager to his employees.
Basically one of the employees was getting me my meals (I ordered 5 by the way) and decided I wanted to try the new limited braised Lamb too. The employee, happy to be engaging in a conversation and putting braised Lamb on my rice was met with the manager storming from the back and basically yelling at him that he put too much meat on. This is infront of me. And just to be clear, I go to the other locations and the meat serving was actually not on the heavy side - if anything the employee was following protocol.
Regardless, I asked the guy if he was the manager and when said see you soon - I didn't respond. I did say thank you to the employee who decided to serve someone with a smile.
I am not going to return here and suggest people who want to support our staff and waiters - to not go...
Read moreUsed to love this place but the last few visits have been incredibly inconsistent in quality of meat, portions, and the “white sauce”.
Portions used to be more generous than the infamous Chipotle but the last few visits they have been stingy as heck - despite prices going up!
The quality of the beef was always inconsistent - too chopped up, dried out and crispy bits, with oily remnants. The portions used to make up for this but now it’s not worth it.
Lastly, they changed the recipe of the white sauce. It has become stark white and less flavorful in the new packaging. Today they ran out of the packets and whatever was squeezed onto my platter was watery and lacked the usual flavor.
We used to go once a week but with these changes it will be a long time before we return.
Staff are always nice and pleasant though so service has never...
