As an amateur home baker, I always wanted to have a professional baking experience. This class from Chef Zach was just what I was looking for. The class started with a detailed background of the recipe and the ingredients involved. Chef Zach demonstrated each and every intricate detail involved in choosing ingredients and the impact they have on the final dish. We baked an amazing French Mi Cuit which I learnt was nothing close to a choco lava cake only after I tasted. It was a spoon full of bliss in my mouth. Chef Zach was patient enough to guide us through each step of the recipe and answered all our questions. The chocolate tasting is something I would remember for the rest of my life when I’m buying chocolate for baking. We were introduced to various chocolates available in the market and made to taste and realize the difference among them. Overall, I would definitely go back to another baking class and would recommend to anyone like me who would want to experience baking from a...

Hands down the best chocolate making class around DFW. Chef Zach simplifies the recipe so you don’t feel this need to run out and spend a ton of money on baking equipment. But if you do need any of the basic items used, he provides you Amazon links to those fairly inexpensive items. The recipe he teaches is straightforward and incredibly easy once you’ve had him walk you through it. You walk away knowing you are 100% capable of recreating the deliciousness all over again in your own kitchen. Its very hands on and you get some history on the origins of the dessert and tons of knowledge on chocolate. We also tried a variety of chocolates. My number one takeaway is learning about the best brands of chocolates and the impact of the cacao % on a recipe. I now know more about how to choose the best chocolates for various recipes. My teenage son walked away feeling confident that be could recreate this by himself at home. It was truly a great experience and we felt welcomed in Chef...

Hey folks, Recently my wife expressed her desire to spend some girl time with her sister and our daughter absent of the men and boys! Enter Zach Townsend, and Dallas Chocolate Classes! Zach knew just how to create a world-class afternoon for all of the ladies I love most in this world. To ensure the menfolk are no where around, we will all be in the middle of Lake Texoma with Colt Burst fishing that day. Just by mentioning a small part of the forthcoming 3 hour chocolate immersion to my wife after a long day, her eyes filled with delight and anticipation. After sharing with Zach my wife was the owner and President of Lavenderbean.com - he quickly amended the days agenda to include coffee! He even hinted at the possibility of the day inspiring a new t-shirt design. If you can get on his schedule, Zach is ready to create that special day for the ladies in your family. No doubt the ladies will follow up after their special...

A+ date night experience. You instantly feel welcome in Chef Zach’s home, and it has an authentic and personal feel to it that you don’t get at larger corporate-style programs. Zach reminds me of “Gusteau” from Ratatouille in how me makes you feel like “anyone can cook.” We learned to make an incredible Mi-Cuit, which we again replicated at home successfully on our first try. This is hands down the best “lava cake” we’ve had, and it is now my go to dessert at home because of its ease to make and exceptional taste. This is high praise coming from someone who seeks out Michelin-started restaurants around the world and considers dessert the highlight course. Zach’s a great teacher and really helps you understand why each ingredient and step matters so you can recapture the magic again and again. We can’t wait for our next class!

I took Chef Zach's Dallas Chocolate class to celebrate my 30th birthday with my sister and it was AMAZING! I was really impressed by his professionalism and regard for safety during this COVID crisis. Even before booking the class, Chef Zach answered all the questions I had, helped me choose a "Dessert Theme" that would accommodate my personal taste (Chocolate Tartlets), and gave me a really good idea of what to expect from the class. Chef Zach is incredibly knowledgeable, personable, and professional. The best part of the process was walking away feeling like I had gained enough experience to try this recipe and work with chocolate on my own. He taught us about chocolate quality, how to work with it, flavors, etc. Highly recommend if you are a chocolate lover! I will definitely be taking another class in the future! :)
