I went there earlier today as my first time for this location and my overall experience was meh. Few things you have to know before you come here: There is a limit to 1 bin/ bag per customer. Usually short staffed. So be prepared to wait a long time. This platos is very clean and organized however, the pants section are not categorized correctly… so make sure you try on the pants and check the sizes. Monica (the hiring manager) is very nice but she does look a little bit stressed out since she was the only worker so asking for assistance might be difficult. I think due to her stress, her attention to detail is affected because when she was checking me out, she forgot to pay me at first and forgot the fact that I have not signed the offer quote yet. The reviews about them being overstocked on everything is very true. They did not accept most of my items and I felt like I wasted my time driving out here from richardson.
To give you context about my experience, I came here with 3 bags of clothes but since there is a 1 bag limit, I had to pick my best bag. I had the following brands in this bag in rarely used condition: kate spade, jcrew, forever 21, banana republic, franchesca, free people , Ralph Lauren, and a few other unknown brands. I checked in at 11:54am and got checked out at 12:56 (so about an hour). I saw the lady working there skim through my clothes at around 12:30 for like under 2 minutes and I sat there and waited until 12:56 for her to tell me she just bought one item which was a pair of booties of an unknown/ cheap brand.
Things I think this location could’ve improved on: Greet me when I walk in. Hire more part time employees so customers could have a better experience. You can’t run this store properly with just one person. I empathize for the lady working alone today. If it took you 2 min to skim through my bag and you only purchased ONE item and you see me sitting there waiting…then tell me once you get done. An hour spent waiting could have easily been shortened to 35 min. You guys contradict yourself when you say you need more women’s swimsuits when you literally passed up brand new with tags women’s Ralph Lauren swimsuit from my bag. I am confused as to what kind of swim wear you guys are...
Read moreLOL I came here a few years ago to sell A LOT of clothes (2 totes) All of my items were in almost brand new condition. (100% leather jackets, alot with store tags on them) I recall waiting not even 15 minutes for them them the go through like I said TWO full totes of clothes which I thought was odd in itself but then they proceed to tell me none of my stuff was in style. I'm no fashionista by any means but that 15 minutes I did look through the clothes that Plato's closet had and almost every item that I guess is "in style" but I found NOTHING that was "in style" everything in there was either faded , dingy, stained, had holes or Walmart brand and overly priced but apparently things from Kohl's, jc penny, Holliter, abercrombie, Victoria secret, nike, and a few brandless items that were in almost new condition (no holes no stains no dingy look) are not "in style". The reason I made this review is because now about 3 years later I was thinking of selling with Plato's closet until the other customers recent reviews sounds exactly like how I was treated a few years ago. I noticed Plato's closet replied to one customer on here that had the same experience I had with nice items and was turned down apologizing that they couldn't buy all of everyone's items which is completely understandable but I think this employee or manager responding to reviews should really apologize to the customers that spend money there because I guarantee they missed out on a lot of actually nice items because the employees here are just too lazy to actually do their job thats why the selection here was so awful. There's a reason it's been 3 years since this company crosses crossed my mind and after reading the reviews that they're exactly the same thats all it did was cross my mind lol I remembered the employees being extremely rude and careless towards the people that are basically giving them a paycheck and big surprise they still are. I hope whoever owns this store reads these reviews because by the looks he/she needs to personally come in and personally retrain all of the staff on "style" and customer service because it sounds like in 3 years nothing has changed and that is why this location has the...
Read moredropped off my bag of clothes at 12:22 pm. the cashier said that the computers were down, so she’d just text me when the clothes were ready. on the application when i checked in, i put that “i’ll wait”, meaning that i’m waiting outside in my car for a text until my clothes are done being sorted through. 1 hour goes by, and no text. i go inside, another cashier checks me in and says my clothes are ready. i asked how long they’d been ready for, and he ignored the question. then i asked the women who originally checked me out if they stopped doing texts to let people know their clothes were ready and had been sorted through. she stated again that her “computers were down”. i said, but when i came in and checked in, you claimed “you’d text me when it was ready since your computers were down”. i was outside waiting for who knows how long, car running, when my stuff had probably been ready. she was talking pretty aggressive and i didn’t want to go off so i just took my money and left. but i decided to leave this review so she can stop lying to people. also she needs to learn how to talk to customers like they’re people, not like trash or little children. just say you lied and move on, hun. i won’t be returning here, but maybe reconsider y’all’s...
