Called two days prior to bringing a project into the store and Carlos the manager told me he couldn't answer print questions, his "print girl" was an hour late "for some reason" but I could call back in two hours. The print girl steered me to print my own copies, "it would be less expensive." Today, I go in to ask them to help me complete it, she quotes me two days to do the copying, or I can do it on my own right now. This was a journal with maybe 40 pages total. She said she was working all day tomorrow (4th of July- Thursday) so maybe by Friday? She wasn't sure because it would take her "hours with all of the interruptions she would have." I told her I needed to get it done sooner because its part of a halfway box for my boyfriend who is deploying. She said it can't happen faster than two days.
She sets me up on my own, does a test copy for me and tells me again sorry this is my fastest option. I proceed to make copies, not realizing this printer's toner was off (she probably could have told me, she saw the first test copies and they were yellow) so I have to do the entire thing over. Takes me an hour and a half, the whole time the store is DEAD because of the holiday and I see her standing around drinking an energy drink, talking, while theres only one other guy working the print section. I think I know the real reason why it takes so long- because when I brought it to Carlos the manager's attention he told me she was also managing the store with him. This comes as a surprise to me, as I saw about 8 peopled in the store at most at one time, I would think one manager would take the "very overwhelmed" print section?
He yelled at me, told me my reality was only my perception when I felt like the store was slower than they were letting on, I could have it for free because "thats all I want, right?" To say I'm appalled is an understatement. Money is not an object to me to have this gift done right, nor is it a problem for me in general- what an assumption. They were so busy the second guy who joined the only nice/working guy was online shopping on the computer beside where I was standing.
0/5 stars- the other Cary location is shutting down so I suggest the drive to Brier Creek if you are looking for professional help on a sentimental project. They made it clear I could drive to Brier Creek or Fuquay as an alternative. I will be next...
Read moreFriendly staff, all except the manager Chris. I recently pre ordered an iPhone 6 from the store thinking that it would be an easy transaction since I bought an iPhone 5 from best buy two years ago and the entire process lasted around 10 minutes... wrong. I received a notification from Fedex that my iPhone had arrived in store, so I then proceeded to go pick it up. Upon arriving to the store, I ended up waiting for almost 3 hours while the manager and wireless tech tried to activate my phone and ring it up. Activation went smoothly, but the register wouldn't recognize that it was a plan upgrade and wouldn't drop the price. Finally I had to leave for a meeting so I told both Chris and the tech that I would be back as soon as the meeting let out ( be reminded that I still don't have a phone at this point because my old one has been deactivated). I return to the store after my meeting about an hour later just to be told by a different assistant manager that Chris and the tech had left for the day, and that I would have to return tomorrow and that there was nothing they could do. So I then proceeded to drive home, at night, and spend a majority of the next day without any phone at all. I find that completely unacceptable, and resorting to that should have never been an option in the first place. I came in the next day to pick the phone up and was obviously pissed beyond belief at them for wasting an additional 30 minute drive there for a problem that should have been resolved the day before. I refrained from causing a scene, because it wouldn't have changed anything regardless. After all that, Chris never even offered anything to make up for all the hassle and trouble he and his company put me through. I was very patient and understanding while I sat there the entire afternoon the first day. But after I was told I had to go a whole night without a phone at all, and that "Hopefully" it would be resolved tomorrow I personally think that just an I'm sorry isn't enough. I learned a very valuable lesson throughout all of this, and its to always deal directly with the wireless provider and not a secondary dealer such as Staples,...
Read moreMy most recent experience at this location compelled me to leave a review. I came around 8 pm because the email I was sent for my pickup order told me the order would be ready in the evening. The hours of operation also say the store closes at 9 pm. A tall, bald, white guy (possibly the store manager) was talking to someone who seemed to be another customer by the front door with the gate partially propped open. He made me aware that this particular location closes at 8 pm despite what it says online and asked me if I was picking up something quickly. I told him "yes, I'm picking something up" and he asked me "what is it?" in a tone that wasn't very welcoming. He let me go in to pick up my print out but the employees weren't very friendly.
I understand that everyone was ready to go home but it's not my fault the hours weren't updated. I shouldn't be made to feel like an inconvenience, when it's the fault of the business for not adjusting their hours online.
Update: I came home and realized that my print request wasn't not done correctly. I paid for the print to be done on cardstock and ended up with...
