First timer - with food allergies. I noticed the menu has labels for GF, Vegan, etc. which is great. The only trouble was the ordering sequence of the line. When you get to the counter having not seen everything in the case, it’s hard to know exactly what’s being offered without going through the line to read all the labels. I shared I was gluten and dairy free and was told the chicken kabob was my protein option - I had no idea I was going to be getting a single kabob with two smallish sides for $11.99. The girl at the counter got frustrated with me holding up the line as I reviewed all the ingredient cards. Sorry but food allergies happen!

I added a couple of other sides, those were paid for by weight. So I spent close to $30 for one single kabob and maybe another cup or so of food between all the sides. I realized halfway through eating one of the sides that there was red pepper in the dressing so I couldn’t even finish that part of my order. Such a waste of money.

Knowing it wasn’t nearly enough protein I bought two more chicken kabobs on their own - learned when I went back through the line that I could’ve just added them to the original meal and it would’ve been cheaper. I wish the person taking my initial order had told me that after I made a point to mention it was my first time there. Also important to note - for someone who doesn’t eat grains - all of the meals come with rice. It would be nice to be able to sub an additional side for the rice since otherwise that’s more wasted money from the total cost of the meal.

In retrospect I would have gone through the line and asked all my questions and then gone through again to actually order. Live and learn!

While the food I had was pretty good and customer service was almost there for me - I can’t give it 5 stars. I just spent $40 on 3 kabobs, a side of hummus, side of beet salad, and a side of roasted veggies. I don’t even know what...

I enjoy supporting family-owned restaurants. I stumbled upon Sassool because Juice Vibes was closed. I was famished after my evening hike and I did not feel like cooking. I needed something light. I know that I wanted vegetables, and fruit. When I saw the pasta I had to have it! I settled on the Vegetable Lasagna which was very savory and full of vegetables that almost had me fooled but I knew it was vegetables lol. Inside the lasagna was grill squash, eggplant, zucchini, red potato, feta cheese, house made marinara, and a three cheese blend. Omg so delicious!

The kale salad filled with raisins, apples, bell pepper, walnuts, olive oil, red wine vinegar, and spices had my tastebuds jumping and was another hit for me and I wasn't expecting it to be this good. The fruit was refreshing as a light dessert. I wanted so bad to try the vegan desserts (I'm not a vegan) but it looked scrumptious.

I can't wait to try the other sides and entrees. My entire purchase was under $14. I tried a sparkling rose' water which was an acquired taste (low calorie) the right amount of fizz that was another nice treat that made me happy after my meal. My only concern was some of the serving utensils handles were laying in the food, besides that this was a good experience. The staff are nice and informed me of the rewards program. Will I come...

Simone and Sassool were an absolute pleasure to work with. They catered our wedding and did a fantastic job.

We initially contacted Sassool when we were looking for a caterer and Simone gave us a complimentary tasting of the menu. Once we decided to go with Sassool, Simone helped us every step of the way to figure out which/how many appetizers/entrees/sides we needed. On the day of the wedding, Simone and her team not only set up their food, but they also brought cutlery, drinks, ice, etc and helped with setting up ice-cream bar toppings and the wedding cake. They then efficiently cleaned up everything at the end of the evening and helped us pack up all the extra food. They took care of a lot of the minute details that we otherwise didn't have any plans for and we were very appreciative of that.

In addition to all of the logistics, the food from Sassool was absolutely delicious. Most of the guests went back for seconds and thirds and commented how great everything was. Usually wedding food is quite boring and the same chicken/meat/fish dishes over and over again, but with Sassool, we were able to curate a menu that we would be happy eating ourselves for dinner. Overall; we were highly impressed with everything about this restaurant as a catering company and would highly...

What can I say about Sasool that hasn't already been said? Aunthentic, delicious, satitisfying from head to toe--yes!! I found out about Sasool through and online Yelp cooking event that one of their co-owners hosted and everything that she made looked so amazing. I love that she really took the time to explain everything and mentioned that most of their ingredients come from farms and stores in NC. I love that they are local and use local ingredients. Plus everything she made looked delicious and this was the same for the food I ate last week at Sasool. The staff was awesome and let me try the jalapeño hummus. Omg! That went immediately into my pick four plate topped with unpitted olives and olive oil, oh so good! I also went with the tabouli, chicken salad, and couscous. All were super fresh and made me want to keep eating more and more. They give you more than enough for a couple of meals. This is a definite go to for fresh and healthy choices! Now for dessert I plan to go back to get some of their baklava, which along with all of their other dessert choices looked amazing! I wanted to literally eat everything through the glass cases. Go go go!

I used to be a regular at Sassool and always ordered the vegetarian kibbeh — it was my go-to dish. On June 5th, after taking my son to WakeMed, I stopped by for lunch and asked for my usual without checking the food display. Unfortunately, I was given the beef version, which I realized only after tasting it. As someone who follows religious dietary restrictions, this was very upsetting — we do not eat meat, especially beef. I immediately called the restaurant to explain the situation and see if it could be resolved. Unfortunately, the person who answered showed no empathy or understanding. It was disappointing, especially from a place I used to visit frequently. “I work here since April and I have never seen the veggie version”. “I believe there is a clear note by dish that states ingredients” While I understand it's partly on me for not checking the label, I wish the staff had clarified that the vegetarian version was no longer available when I asked for it by name.
