Priya was 5 when she first tried a rec class at Hot Spot Gymnastics at the same time as her 3 year brother in July of 2017. Her brother excelled and moved up into higher skill levels pretty quickly and gave him the option to move up or stay with kids his age rather than skill level. You and your child are in control of advancement with their recommendations, of course. My daughter was so shy when she started that she begged not to go back after only 3 practices. After watching her brother for a year, she decided to go back and I'm so glad she did because the personal growth as well as growth in skills is invaluable. She has learned to not judge herself by what others do. She has learned that she always improves with practice. She has learned it's ok to come out of her shell with those she trusts. She has learned that giving her 100% may look a bit different from another's 100% and "You Do You". Coach Brittany challenges each gymnast individually as well as a whole team to reach their full potential. Although Priya is not one to talk much, Brittany has learned how to work with her. Brittany's been able to see her capabilities and push her to do her best. Priya's teammates are always cheering each other on with encouragement from Coach Brittany to do so. This little girl pushes through pain, pushes through doubt and believes in herself to keep going. Coach Brittany teaches these girls to know what they're capable of, know they can always push themselves to improve and know they can trust themselves. Without this personal growth and skill training, my 8 year old daughter wouldn't have had what it takes to win the 2021 AZ State Championship...
Read moreAbsolutely APPALLED in this studio this facility and this staff. My toddler who just turned 4 walked in with his father to attend a trial class. While my husband was waiting to complete the paper work my son was very excited and hyper about starting the class. The owner gave him NO chance to try the class. Accused my son of needing to be in a special needs class and then told him that he can not attend the trial class. And turned my son and husband away within 4 minutes of walking into the studio. My son attends pre school and another dance studio and has never had any issue with his behavior or listening skills. He was just in a brand new place and excited to take his first class and instead was bullied, and turned away within 4 minutes of my husband walking in the door and 10 minutes before the trial class even began. Given him ZERO chances to try the the trial class(which the entire point of the trial class is to literally see how it goes). Not only did he accuse my son of needing a special needs class they took what excitement they saw beaming from a four year old and turned it into something negative and identified this studio as a place I wouldn’t want my...
Read moreIf you’re going to drop money on gymnastics, you should go with the place that is a USA Gymnastics member, not the alternative here in the CG area. The staff is excellent and they will challenge your child to be the best gymnast they can be. This isn’t cheap, but your child will be conditioned physically and mentally. Overheard after a particularly practice session for girls “gymnast don’t complain”. Hint to you as parents, if you’re not coachable, chances are your kid isnt either. This is not for the weak, but there are some kids that come here for the fun. That’s fine too, they have this place running like a machine. The coaches are just wonderful....you can tell they love...
