I have a secret obsession with sneakers, well all footwear really. Im older now and just trying to stay relevant lol !!! I had been looking for a few pair recently, tried the brand lottery but no luck. Seen some on stockx and goat but I am always hesitant because with my luck Iâll end up with a high quality fake. I had reached out to Countdown in DMs a few times and always felt the response was quick and gave me the answers I needed even if it was that they didnât have what I was looking for. At the time it was shoes for my husband which is a size 14. No surprise to us not a popular size even in general retail. About a month ago finally made our way out to Countdown because my husband wanted to check out the hat pins. He has a new found love for the HatDrip. Hatplugtx did not disappoint. As for me it was basically meant to be. As soon as I walked in I spotted a pair I had been wanting, Golden Gal, in-my-size! It was honestly an easy sell. Was it over priced, yes! BUT I get it. You donât walk in to a place like this with out expecting to dish out. Itâs a business and Thatâs how they make their money. If you are not expecting to pay a mark up turn this isnât the place for you. Itâs dead stock, no tricks, you pay more for what you canât get. Other online retailers might be slightly less sometimes? What I got got was almost on point pricing. But really it adds a lot of benefit to the customer. 1-I see exactly what Iâm getting and can try on, 2-I donât have to wait for shipping, 3-If for some reason there is an issue with my purchase I do not have to deal with an online bot, I have a face to connect with that I assume would handle it well because the integrity of their small business is at stake. And 4-Biggest of all I respect the Hustle and the fact that this small business is trying to turn a profit while also doing what they can to give back to the community (follow socials), One more, 5-San Antonio is known for a lot of things, this place is trying to give San Antonio a spot in the shoe game of course I want to be a part of that! As for the store, The employees are all just hanging out having fun. Itâs not a pressure to buy but more of a âlet me know if I can talk sneakers...
Read moreVery bad experience and terrible professionalism. Bought a pair of shoes for my son and i mentioned my son size and the guy helping me didnât mention that those shoe run smaller and should have sold the right size and off-course they didn't fit and when i went to exchange for the right pair, he decreased down the price of the shoe i bought by $170 and asked me to pay him $70 more even when the exchanging new pair of shoe was $100 cheaper then the original shoe i purchased, On asking why? he mentioned that this is how they do the business. They sale at one price and for exchange they decreased the price and increase the price of new one. I was totally shocked, he wanted me to pay him $240 over the sale price of the shoe now. I am a physician and running my own business but i have never seen such kind of greedy professionalism anywhere. I thought of helping local small business owners. I would definitely say that never go to this place. They are simply here to rob people and doesn't care about...
Read moreTook in 5 pairs of deadstock retro 5 Jordan's all in the OG boxes and a pair of retro 11's in 9/10 condition with OG box. Based off GOAT prices I had approx. $1700 worth of product. Dude offered me $200 for everything at first. Said nobody buys 5's and that he would only make $70 on an auction app he uses where the bids start as low as 1 penny ( I'm a licensed car dealer I know how auctions work) he said the only ones that would sell in his store were the 11's. told him no problem to just quote me on the 11's then and I'd keep the 5's, he then said he wouldn't take the 11's without the 5's. The place is a joke lol. Drove over to hyped goods on San Pedro and the guy gave me $100 cash and $100 store credit for the 11's. he was honest and said that the 5's weren't a hot item right now and advised me to sell them on eBay to get more money and this alone showed me he was an honest business man. They didn't have the biggest selection but glad they took...
