As mentioned in some reviews, customer service is not the best. They do not know how to prioritize customers and they usually accommodate customers who order take-out regardless who comes first. It was after 2pm, we were just standing by the front door waiting to be seated until another family comes in and a "take-out" customer. The receptionist seated us last even though we were the first ones to arrive, mind you, I was carrying a baby and a toddler. I ordered the chicken pad thai and thought it was so greasy. My children usually love noodles, but they did not like them. I also ordered the cashew shrimp and honestly, it was cooked as if the shrimp, vegetables, and cashews were all just tossed together, nothing special. I also ordered boba teas, avocado and taro flavors. The avocado tasted nothing like avocado, as for the taro, it was too sweet. Lastly, I ordered the popular thai dessert mango on sticky rice with coconut milk. The mango was not sweet/ripe enough. It was bland overall. This place is quite pricey, too. My bill came up to $50, but I believe their servings are good for two people. I dislike my experience and I do not think I will be coming back soon.
UPDATE: I thought I would not be coming back to this restaurant after my first visit, but since my husband wanted to try it, I thought I should give it another try. We came 40 minutes before closing time. We ordered boba teas in lychee and honeydew flavors. I would recommend these flavors, they are good! We ordered chicken fried rice for the kids and it was flavorful! My husband ordered (I do not know the name, the waitress recommended it) beef with vegetables, although it looks very simple, it was pretty good like a home cooked meal. I ordered the seafood thai curry, and it was by far the best one I had. We also had a great experience with the customer service that night. She did not wear a name tag, but she has short hair. She is very friendly, knows the menu very well, and constantly checks up on us. Even though they were about to close, she did not make us feel rushed to leave. Our bill was around $50,...
Read moreI really wanted this place to be good. We spent a bit looking for a place to eat, and we were seated fairly quickly here, compared to other locations.
We were seated after hearing complaints about to-go orders taking upwards of an HOUR and still not prepared from multiple individuals in the front. That should've raised a red flag but we decided to continue with our dinner plans.
We were seated and while we ordered our drinks and appetizers our waiter cut us off to say "I'm just going to let you know it'll be at least half an hour before we can get your entrees out". He reassured us that the appetizers would be out before so we went ahead with it. We tried to go ahead and order our entrees at the same time but he ran off without letting us order.
The appetizers came out within 20 minutes or so and by this time we STILL did not have our drinks that we ordered. We asked and we were told they'd be right out along with some plates/silverware/napkins for our appetizers. Another 10 minutes goes by and still nothing, by this time our appetizers are almost gone.
After we finished the appetizers, we sat there for nearly half an hour with no interaction whatsoever. No drinks, napkins, silverware, and our entree order still not even placed yet while other tables are complaining about the same thing. It has been almost an hour with no drinks or any sort of service. Other tables are mad as well and individuals waiting in the front are making loud/angry comments.
I had to go find my waiter myself and get him to check me out, normally I wouldn't pay in a situation like this but the appetizers weren't actually bad, the service was just horrendous. Probably the WORST I've experienced in San Antonio. I paid and the waiter didn't even seem to be phased, he responded to me with "Oh, you scared me when you walked up" and "You guys are leaving already?"
I'd run from this place, there are way better places to go, and like I said earlier in the review; probably the worst in...
Read moreI usually do not write reviews of restaurants. But here it is important for the managers to know. So past week we had contacted Yum Thai for a graduation party and possibility of catering. We had about 70 guests and we had mentioned this to the managers, we selected the dishes--4 dishes, paid the whole amount a week earlier and checked back with them several times in between. The good thing was they delivered right on time that day of the party. Behaivior of everyone was very admirable. But the alert is the quantity of food. Knowing there will be 70 people two of the main dishes they basically made food not even for 45 people. There was so much shortage of food, that as hosts we felt absolutely embarassed. The thing to note here, we paid $150.00 dollar extra on top of the price of the dishes to add extra food (quantity wise). The food was yummy --everyone said that. But the restaurant should be KNOWLEDGABLE about what it means by catering. I do not think they even know how much food to serve a party. I am not sure if they have catered before. When asked on our first visit it seemed they know everything. In RED (chicken) CURRY dish my guests was looking for chicken pieces; when guests only got was the "soup" . The other dish was veggie delight and it was hardly to find Tofu in it--Though the restaurant promised that there will be enough [this dish was even prepared for 40 people, when we repeatedly said we will at least have 60+ people for the party, and paid $150 extra just for "extra quantity for each dish"]. We have hosted many such parties, and had caterings from variety of restaurants in town--but never faced this problem. This is uncalled for!! We are very unhappy about this. We will reconsider ever to order from them. I like this for the managers to...
