I went to Luxe for an SNS manicure and gel pedicure. The appointment started off great - very friendly host/manager, and the lady who did my pedicure was really sweet. However, as I was sitting for my pedicure, i noticed there were ants roaming the salon and also on the pedicure chairs. When I pointed it out, the lady was very apologetic and motioned to the windows saying something about summer. I said I understood, although I think regular pest control would take care of that. Then during my manicure, I was watching the technician and she was only half dipping every other layer of powder, which was making the finish uneven. I asked her about it, and it turns out it's just part of her process (the final finish looks great), but she acted like I snapped at her and also argued with me which I thought was unprofessional since all I did was ask if there was a way to make the finish more even. Towards the end of my manicure I had to ask for several corrections, and also when I asked them to clean the buildup from under my nails where the powder and polish had glued my skin to the underside of my nails, she didn't know what I was talking about and had to ask several other ladies. None of them knew about cleaning out from under the nails after putting on dip powder. She finally found a dremel piece to clean a little bit with, but I had to do most of the clean-up myself by scraping under my nails after I went home. Additionally the manicure only included the dip powder application - no cuticle oil, no lotion, nothing for my skin. I had asked for matching colors as well (both light pinks) but they ended up not being very close. For the gel toes and SNS powder nails, the total was $108 before tip - and these were considered the "basic" services according to the host. This is the most expensive mani/pedi I've ever gotten for an experience that was much less relaxing/pampering than I'm used to. For perspective, this service is in Cedar Falls, IA, and I live in Atlanta, GA where I normally pay $80 for the same two services and better quality and value (more pampering included - cuticle oil, hot stone massage, etc.). You'd think it would be cheaper in Cedar Falls than in the large city. Not very impressed and won't...
Read moreLuxe Nail Bar in Cedar Falls has a clean and modern ambiance with plenty of seating, which made for a short wait time. Unfortunately, the service I received—specifically from my nail tech, Lisa—was disappointing and disrespectful.
As someone familiar with nail services (despite being male), I immediately noticed that corners were being cut. Lisa was rude, dismissive, and repeatedly questioned my choices—as if I didn’t know what I wanted. I clearly communicated the DND polish number I prefer, but was told it wasn’t available. When I asked what other nude options were available, she seemed annoyed and uninterested in helping. After some back and forth, I finally had to request the nail color samples myself, which is something most professionals would provide upfront.
Even after selecting a color, she asked multiple times if I was sure, which felt unnecessary and condescending. What truly frustrated me, though, were the comments implying I might not be able to afford the service—such as repeatedly clarifying that acrylic would be “an extra $8.” These micro-aggressions were uncomfortable and out of line.
Additionally, no one explained the levels of service offered, such as different types of manicures or pedicures, making it feel like a one-size-fits-all approach. I ultimately canceled my manicure and left to receive better service elsewhere.
I went across the street to OMG Nail Spa, where I had a much better experience. I was treated with respect, provided with clear service options, and felt welcomed from start to finish. I highly recommend OMG Nail Spa over Luxe Nail Bar if you value professionalism and a...
Read moreWorst experience ever tec was rude to my daughter. rolled her eyes at her and got an attitude when she said she liked her nails thicker. ( my daughter said this while she was applying acrylic) again had an issue when my daughter asked for the point of her nail be dulled down to prevent scratches (they were sharp) nails than filed to a almond shape. Some Nails were thin while others were thick, uneven and crooked, and completely different from the basic idea photo given. My daughter was in pain the entire time due to the tec filing super rough and twisting nails insted of turning her hand. My tec never spoke a word to me. Had my daughters tec do her talking. Again had and issue when I expressed that I liked my nails on the thicker side (I informed her of this befor she even started my nails) my nails are uneven, and super thin. She also while bringing my drink opend and placed her fingers on my straw (hands were covered in nail polish remover and nail dust) My mother's tec spent the entire time scolding her about how old her acrylic was and she needed a new set (that's what she asked for) but proceeded to just do a fill. I watched the same file be passed to atleast 3 people without any form of sanitizer. Do not recommend this place and will...
