Plato's Closet Cedar Hill — Local services in Cedar Hill

Went in on August 21st and it was awful. No employee said a word to me my whole time I was there. even during the checkout process. “Here you go” is the only thing that was said to me. I was in the store for an hour and a half shopping around, it took me so long because everything was out of place. As a girl who wears LARGES and extra LARGES you’d be very upset when you find something so cute in the large section only to find it be an extra small. The most disorganized Plato’s I’ve EVER been to. I even used to work in a thrift store and it was awful the way no clothes in the large section were even large? Might as well take the sizing signs down.

On top of nothing being in place, the things that I heard employees say were awful. Every single one of them sat behind the counters not even helping customers out, which a girl needed a lot of help cause I couldn’t find anything… they sat behind the counter for the WHOLE time I was there talking the utterly most crap about every single person. A girls friends even came in and they continued the crap talk on people. It shocks me how teenage girls can talk crap about people for so long on and on and never get tired of it? My heart physically hurts for the people they were talking about. They were saying the most downright innapropriate and rudest things too. About coworkers, people from their personal lives, everything. As someone who’s worked in retail a million times and was a teenage girl. I get it, we get frustrated with people in life and we wanna express our stories. But not in the middle of your shift. With 8 people in your store. Talking over the music. With your 6 coworkers who clearly aren’t doing their job either! I was straight up just uncomfortable in there and when I went to check out I thought the girl would atleast say hi. No she grabbed my close scanned them put them in the bag and just said “here you go” and then she continued to turn to her coworker and finish her crap talking story. Girls, be nicer in the world. it doesn’t cost anything. Took everything in me not to say it to them...

If I could give zero stars I would.I took clothes in to sell on Dec 18, 2021 was suppose to go back and pick up money and clothes they didn't buy. On Sunday 12-19-21 went to get buy and doors were locked note on door said closed for Christmas party. Later that same afternoon I was involved in a bad car wreck where I was admitted to the hospital with a broken left hip,. ON MON 12-20-21 I called platoes closet and told the girl who answered the phone what had happened. Asked what I needed to do was told that she would put it on my paperwork wat happened and not to worry all would be ok. Well Shelly the manager who doesn't need to be a manager was rude when I called back after she left me a voice mail, letting me know that all my items as well as the 16 dollars I had coming was lost to me. Never sell here they rip off someone who spent 10 days in the hospital. All for 16 dollars. I used to sell here all the time never would have believed that they would rip off someone who could prove I was in the hospital. Worst owners ever I have never even heard from them I asked Shelly the manager to please give them my number, as of to 1/7/2022 still have not heard from the owner. Bad business all the way around. It would be nice if the owner of Platoe's closest to take responsibility for there actions or their employees, the really sad thing is I don't care that they donated the clothes that were left, it's the 16 dollars they cheated me out of, and the fact that they just don't care.

UPDATE: As of today's date 02-10-2022, I still have never heard from Platoe's closet, here I am still healing after my car wreck in Dec. No one should be allowed to treat people the way this company did to me, and I am sure that I am not the only one. I will never, never, never step foot in this store. I will be contacting cooperate for poor management and ownership. Never in my life I have gone to platos closet, retail or restaurant who overworks their employees, and are mistreated. There's a reason why they are ALWAYS hiring. THEY CANT KEEP EMPLOYEES LET ALONE TREAT THEM. I believe the general manager was sitting in back, and two hours went by because I waiting on a buy to be done. TWO hours for a buy is also too long, but that's besides the point. There was older girl I believe she is PREGANT upfront by herself going through people's items, opening fitting rooms, and checking people out ALL BY HERSELF. When the manager did come out she told the girl because I guess she was on the floor going through someone's clothes to check out people, AS SHE STOOD THERE AND WATCHED ( NOT HELP). THERE WERE 5 PEOPLE WAITING IN LINE AS SHE WAS CHECKING PEOPLE OUT, AND PEOPLE TO DROP OFF CLOTHES. This girl was not giving a break at all. She looked stressed and overwhelmed. I did take my clothing back, but came back to shop around. The clothes floor is not organized whatsoever. There were a lot items in the wrong size, there men's items on the girls size. The shoes are not organized by size, and the shoes were just toss al over the place. I remember i came here a week ago before all this. I over heard employees talking about how the general manager ( SHELLEY) they said, and she basically bullies employees to stay late and work overtime and how they don't get overtime pay, and That they are not granted a break. This was one of my favorite places to go to for shopping and selling, but now I go to uptown cheapskate for a higher payout, and a better inventory. In all hopes I pray people stop going here and this place gets SHUTDOWN, files for bankruptcy, or gets inspected by cooperate to look at the general manager and owner of platos.
