The language in the loyalty program should clearly state that the birthday offer expires at the end of the specified date, not list the next date when it’s expired. This is really a corporate issue, not the restaurant’s fault. On September 1st, I went to Red Robin to redeem a burger for my birthday. I wouldn’t have gone there if it weren’t for the loyalty burger. I gave the bartender my phone number for the reward and went to the bathroom. When I returned, she told me it didn’t pull up. I gave her both my phone number and email address, but she still couldn’t find it. She suggested I call to get it restored. If she had left it at that, everything would have been fine. However, what followed was a series of unnecessary comments and microaggressions from the server.
While I was on the phone, I explained to the representative that my coupon stated it expired on 9/1, and my birthday was on 8/4. The server, in the background, kept saying, “Oh well, it expired,” which was incorrect since the coupon clearly stated 9/1. Beyond speaking over me while I was on the phone, when I got off the call, she said, “Oh, you’re lucky; they typically don’t do that, and they usually don’t allow the bigger burger.” The coupon specified “any burger,” so her comment was unnecessary. The restaurant wasn’t doing me a favor by letting me redeem the burger—I could have easily afforded dinner or lunch elsewhere.
When I ordered, I also asked this server about the garlic fries. I asked if they were included with the burger, and she said yes, without mentioning any additional cost. When the bill came, however, I was charged for them. When I questioned her about it, she replied, “Well, you ate them, didn’t you?” “It’s on the menu” Her response caught me off guard as I was merely inquiring about the unexpected charge. By that point, I had enough of her smart remarks and asked to speak to the manager.
Restaurants have loyalty programs to bring back customers who haven’t visited in a while. If you provide a subpar experience, it defeats the purpose of offering promotional deals. This feedback is coming from someone who works in marketing for brands—do better next time. I won’t be...
Read moreOn January 25, I arrived at 4 PM asked for a table for 15. She then said it would be 1 hour wait. I stated OK because all of my party was not there yet. At about 4:50pm The waiter upfront asked for me to follow her so she could show me if I was willing to sit my party at a certain location & adding a table with 4 chairs. I then stated that was fine. We would still be close enough. They were just waiting on the party that was sitting at the table to clear. At about 5 PM the party that was at the table cleared. About 5:10pm one of my parties approached the waiter & asked when will we be seated since the other party had cleared? The waiter then told her that the manager has just told her not to sit anymore people down because they are behind on orders. Manager never came to speak to me or any of my party to let us know. Never apologized about anything didnt even acknowledge me. By this time, my whole party was frustrated and tired of waiting. We then proceeded to call another restaurant to see if they had a table for 15. While doing this still haven’t heard from the manager or anyone else to confirm what was going on. We then proceeded to leave to another restaurant. Hope no one else gets treated like this. ‼️BAD...
Read moreWe had friends in from out of town on Halloween and had planned on going to a different restaurant; however, we were unable to due to it being closed for a block party. So looking around, we spotted Red Robin. None of us had ever been to one before, so we did not know what to expect. After putting our name on the list and waiting for 30 minutes, we were seated. Our waitress was wonderful. She explained everything to us regarding how to order and some items that might interest us. After placing an appetizer order, we proceeded to peruse the entrees. The selection is fairly limited, but pricey. The food arrived before too long and was perfect except for the Yukon Gold chips. They were too greasy for our taste and were darker than expected similar to burnt potato chips in a bag you would purchase at the store. Other than that, the food was delightful. We had a bit of a shock when the bill came. It was over $100 for four people with entrees and fountain drinks. This was not what we were expecting. I am not faulting the restaurant for the quality of the food or the staff for their wonderful service. It was the total cost overall which really shocked us. We will not...
