ReAlive Metaphysical — Local services in Cedar Rapids

I was a regular customer at this store for the last couple of years and have probably spent about $100 there in total, mainly because they had a pretty good gem selection. I am a rock collector, not a new age person, so I have always felt a bit uncomfortable there, but it was never a problem. That is, until today. I stopped by and started browsing, and out of nowhere the older woman who runs the place approached me and started making vague statements about how I was "suspicious" because I rarely talked to anyone there and would sometimes leave abruptly (she described it as "running out of the store," which is patently and absurdly false.) I replied that I did not appreciate this weaselly half-accusation that she was making, that I am a regular customer and expect to be treated with respect. I think she knew that she was in the wrong and that she had just insulted/accused a regular customer of theft with nothing close to any kind of proof, but by then it was too late. This store used to be my main source for gemstones, but no longer. I don't know if it's because I'm male or what but her "intuition" was WAAAAYYY off and she has permanently driven away this customer. I will never buy from there again. They need to pay for this unprofessional behavior. I've always been a bit weirded out by this neurotic new-age lady but she crossed the line when she addressed me in that disrespectful way. I plan to tell this story to everyone I know. Try deflecting THIS "negative energy." HA! You FULLY deserve this one-star...

This shop has an amazing selection of crystals and stones. I can always find plenty of interesting items here! They have some local made items. While I’ve not taken advantage of any of their services, they seem to have an extensive list of classes and a variety of providers.

Other reviews mention how friendly and helpful the staff are. Maybe they are just being respectful of me and not hounding me while I shop, but beyond a hello when I enter, I’ve never really had anyone offer help or try to chat at all. The energy is absolutely draining in this store and none of the stones feel genuine, more like they were purchased wholesale and marked up 200%. The woman at the cash register began to read me without my consent within 5 seconds of entering the store. The “no stealing, you’re a loser” signs every 4ft are very concerning, especially for a place that’s trying to sell “vibes”.
