Westdale Town Center — Local services in Cedar Rapids

This place is dying. The CRPL was keeping this place afloat but now that the CRPL has left for a newly remodeled building the mall is continuing it's slow decline again. The two main anchor stores, JCPenney and Younkers, are keeping it afloat now, but their lack of selection is not a huge drawing. There are more empty store fronts then occupied ones. There are a few stores that have been there forever (Eddie Bauer, Chik-Fil-A, Payless) but this again is not a huge draw. If nothing is done to revitalize the mall and bring in new business it will close. Every time I go in a business that was there is gone. Most recently the CRPL and Pretzelmaker.

A new attempt to revitalize the mall and the area is underway. Let's hope it does bring more business to the site and the S/W side. Otherwise, the owners will need to step up and draw in some more business - or get out of the shopping mall business because this place is...

My car was very dusty inside and out from a long road trip on Oklahoma's dirt roads. I have to say that it was fairly clean when I left, but not up to my standards. They missed several spots when they wiped down my interior, so there were dust patches all over the dash when they were finished. I bought the $15 package which included a vacuum and wipe down inside the vehicle as well as a run through the automatic washer. The staff was very friendly, but the service seemed rushed and unfinished. I'm still glad I went and I would do it again because my car is my greatest tool and asset for my work life. My 1st time shopping at Ross and Burlington. I wasn't too impressed with Ross. To be brutally hon est it's like a Goodwill regurgitated in here. A lot of disorganized chaos. They really didn't have many clothing options for my son. Burlington was slightly the same way. A little more organized but still pretty chaotic. You could easily spend hours in the store just trying to search through racks and find things. Again there wasn't very many clothing options in my son's size. I did buy a very nice purse and wallet at Burlington. I would definitely go back to Burlington for their...
