I was brought here by my wife earlier to check out the Mexican grocery store. The store has tons of ethnic food I've never seen and some brands but they all have Mexican pictures on it. Very cool. I want to buy the sombrero and poncho there someday!
We wanted to try the restaurant part but didn't have time. Tonight we did. Great place. This is the real deal! I got the Chicharron en Chile Verde. Wow. Very saucy. A little spice but just a taste. Came with Five corn tortillas not 3 like most places. I made quick work of that.
My wife got Tacos de carne asada. Also very good (I just got one bite) she really liked it.
I got the Mexican Cocoa Cola. This is the stuff with cane sugar not corn syrup. You can taste the difference. My wife who refuses to drink soda pop (pop, coke depending on your locality) actually had two long sips of it... woah...
Loved the music, the people/staff (Pedro was really cool to talk with). Looking forward to more date nights here. As we were sitting there eating, this older (than me) guy walks past us to the order counter and says "this is the best Mexican I've had...
Read moreBest Tacos in the area and burritos the size of your head. I have been eating at this place for years, since long before they moved to this location. Everything is authentic and delicious and at these prices, I don't know why you would eat fast food "tacos". If you like a good fire make sure you ask for the mango hot sauce, but be warned, it's not for the faint of heart. Also this is a grocery store with a wide selection of stuff you can't find elsewhere. Edit after reading the one star review about the trash, look at the time stamp of the review. It was during derecho cleanup. Their entire old building was destroyed and there was a apartment building next door in ruins. So ya, there was some trash at the time, it's clean now. Please think...
Read moreI love this restaurant and store so very much. I spent 11 years in very southern New Mexico. I have missed the food down there for so long and haven't found a place that tasted the same. Well, that has changed! Their Menudo is outstanding. And brings back the peace of my friends abuelas calling mija and making sure I ate haha. 5 stars for food because I am very picky and they haven't let me down. 5 stars for service because I called back to add more to my order and they didn't sound like I was burdening them, which is greatly appreciated. And finally 5 stars for atmosphere. If you've never heard the saying, here it is. The smaller the Mexican restaurant, the better the food. And you guys hit the target. Thanks for being a tiny...
