I was starving so I was elated discovering just how much food comes in the lunch bento box! I decided to eat the Chinese first since it was still warm by the time it was delivered. Honestly I was a bit disappointed, if I eat there again I'll try the tempura next time. The chicken was essentially in a not creamy gravy, I'm sure some people like that but in my book Chinese has an amount of sugar. The crabmeat ragoons (2) were actually very good but served IN the sweet and sour sauce, in my case that was OK because I like a lot of sweet and sour but for the general public the sauce should be in a container, if I didn't like sweet and sour that would've been a deal breaker. The rice was good not over done, under done, burned... very pleasant. I was excited upon discovering the soup. I love miso soup and assumed the soup would taste like miso but whatever it is it is not like any soup I've had before. It was a salty clear broth that reminds me of French onion soup with chunks of onion scallion and mushrooms in it. I honestly debated adding hot water to the soup, but being a former smoker I don't like things being overly seasoned. The bento had a fresh salad of lettuce carrots cucumber and a sweet interesting orange based dressing. Now the sushi. The reason I ordered from them. I saved it for last because I love California rolls! End on a good note right. Wrong. I eat sushi from anywhere, bars, restaurants, box stores, gas stations even home attempts. It looked good, they definitely have more experience rolling sushi than I do but the ingredients were off. The imitation crabmeat tasted a bit like dirt, the cucumber didn't taste fully ripend, the crabmeat really just ruined all 6 pieces of California roll for me. Desperately wanting sushi I tried ginger, eh, then against my better judgment tried the Wasabi and was pleasantly surprised that the Wasabi did cut through the dirt flavor and didn't leave me in pain (I'm not normally a Wasabi fan). I didn't get the whole experience, I don't know if the ambience and service make up for where the food lacks but I doubt I will order delivery from them again even though the quantity for the price...

The place was huge and very spacious. The lighting was warm and welcoming and so was the staff. They were very attentive to our needs as well and were very attentive to details regarding placing things away from our grabby 14 month old son (this happens a lot other places), which we were very pleased about.
The food was amazing, served timely and in very decorative manner. You definetly get what you pay, from shrimp tempura to specialty sushi rolls. The house salad dressing was tasty and potent, there was a bit much on the salad for our like, in the future I will try to ask for it on the side. Overall I loved everything about this Red Ginger.
The cherry on top of the cake though was that after filling up on the grub and getting some to-go containers I had mentioned next time we should get some mochi since my wife and I were the only ones to have had the traditional desserts. They happened to overhear us and while we were talking they brought over a few samples of strawberry and green tea mochi with whip cream and a cherry for my brothers family and parents to try. I was so elated that they gave them those samples! They loved it, despite the unfamiliarity with the concept of a green tea flavored ice cream they loved it.
Overall it was an amazing night.
5\5 Stars for a family night out,...
Read moreI came here Saturday night for takeout. Place looked charming, the service was pleasant, attentive, and friendly.
We got home and the food looked amazing!! I ate a piece of the sashimi and it wasn't fresh. How do I know? Because I've been eating sushi since I was 11 and have learned what fresh sushi and not-so-fresh sushi is textured like from different sushi chefs at the places I've eaten.
Had a fishy smell (when it's fresh it never does) and instead of being soft like butter, it was a stiff and a little tougher to chew. RED FLAG!!
I choked down the one piece of sashimi, and tried another type thinking maybe the others were better, but it was all 3 types of fish. Not fresh at all.
I tried to remind myself I'm not in Miami anymore and access to the sea isn't as easy here...
So instead, I settled for eating the salad, miso soup, and goyza since I was the only one who had an issue with the fish. By the middle of the night, I was sick.
We have 1 bathroom and my 12 year old daughter and I were both in and out with symptoms of food poisoning. It was miserable.
It's Tuesday and I'm STILL dealing with it. I will never...
