Staples — Local services in Cedar Rapids

I had the worst experience I have ever had in a store at the Staples on the South West side. I wanted to buy an expensive office chair in the $350 to $400 dollar range but after two sales persons who were as helpful as they could be, I asked for the manager. I wish I had gotten his name because I am going to escalate this to corporate. I can say I am not the easiest person sometimes but it was 20 minutes till closing. The store was empty and I was told they didn't have the man power to get the chair down and put it together so I could see it. Even if they had offered to open the box so I could get an idea of what it looked like, I would have been fine with but the so called manager copped a serious attitude with me. Said he couldn't do it till the next day. I have bought numerous computers, accessories, supplies, and the list goes on. I'm writing this with a computer that came from Staples. I do think this was an isolated incident with this store this time but I don't plan on going back to this store ever again to find out. It was that bad! If you have the option, I would...

I stopped at this store today to get a new cartridge for my Brother labeler. The customer service in this store is terrible!!! When I walked in the door I asked a gal who was just sitting near the front of the store. Rather than come and help me find one, she just said, try aisle 5. I looked a bit for them, and did not find any, I went back to her again and said I didn't see any. She again, remained sitting in her chair and told me to head down the isle again, so I did. When I got part way down the aisle, she yelled back to me to stop, as they should be there (she was still sitting on her chair doing nothing). I finally asked another customer, and he said they were two aisles over and helped me find them. I will not go back to this...

The store manager, TJ, is fantastic! I was going to Staples to get more ink for my printer-- TJ greeted me at the doors as I walked in and led me right to the ink and made sure I had the correct ink for my printer. He even got me signed up for their rewards program to save on future ink while another employee showed me exactly where to find binders- the whole trip was fast, efficient and so friendly- looking forward to going back to Staples with all my other printing and office needs.
