Reichley's Hallmark Shop — Local services in Centerville

I have enjoyed taking my daughter into Hallmark to peruse the merchandise. We have been several times and every visit we make a purchase - cards, stuffed animals, "collectables," etc.... It has been a fun tradition for a father and his daughter.

After my experience this Saturday (at 10:30 am) I will still be shopping at Hallmark but not a Reichley's Hallmark.

I entered the store with my 3 y/o daughter and we began looking at various items. We saw the "Mystery Ornaments" and my daughter picked a few up to see if she liked them. Out nowhere, one of the associates, a female, instructed a much younger male associate to "Let them know they can't have those ornaments as they are on display, they are going to ask you in a minute so make sure you tell them."

Number 1: I am not an ornament collector Number 2: Address me/us directly if there is an issue Number 3: Perhaps smile and say hello to customers instead of scowl at them and passive aggressively talking about them within earshot

I am all about supporting local business but have a very difficult time doing so when my mere presence in a store is an annoyance.

We took our grandchildren here tonight to get some special Christmas ornaments. It's a tradition our family has done for years. During our visit, our 3 year old grandson needed to use the restroom. When we asked if he could their restroom, we were told that was not an option. They recommended we take said three year old into the brewery next door. We explain to the ladies from hallmark that we'd prefer not to take our 3 year old into a brewery and they then suggested we walk across the entire parking lot and go to Wendy's. Just how cold hearted do you have to be to refuse a 3 year old the use of your restroom? Really? Today was my first visit to the shop and I have to say it will not be my last. The gal I worked with the most was extremely helpful with great suggestions and is quite knowledgeable about their stock. I spent about two hours between Christmas and the initial purpose of my trip because there was so much to see.
