I've been a US Cellular customer since 2008 and have always been happy. Yesterday I called the Central Point, OR store to schedule an appointment to upgrade my wife and I's phones, and scheduled an appointment with Migel. When I got to the store for the appointment Migel was helping another customer and his associate Sam said I should wait since the appointment was originally with Migel. Sam didn't have any customers to help at that time.
I did end up speaking with Sam while I waited and he told me that I wasn't able to upgrade my phone unless I also upgraded my plan. I didn't want to upgrade my plan. I asked if I were to buy the phone in cash outright if I still needed to upgrade my plan, Sam said yes. I asked if there was any way for them to put me in a new phone without upgrading my plan, Sam said no and that if I were going to change my phone for any reason that I needed to upgrade my plan. All this was said by Sam without eye contact, and Migel did not chime in at any time during the interaction.
I called the US Cellular customer service line this morning to confirm and was told I can bring in any unlocked phone and attach it to my current plan, or just buy a phone there in cash and use it without upgrading my plan. Is sounds like Sam was lying to me and Migel was complicit.

I visited two other local corporate US Cellular locations and had nothing positive to say about either visit and was not impressed by anyone’s customer service. It was quite disappointing considering I have been a long time customer of US Cellular. Then I visited Nick, his positive energy was felt the minute I walked in the door and was greeted by him. He was very knowledgeable, friendly and even shared personal stories about himself which made him all more personable. When I asked how long he has worked for the company he said “only a month”! I was in disbelief as someone with so much composure and competency of phones, service and the company as a whole. Read moreI was so disappointed me and my husband got new phones at the same time he thank goodness had no issues where as I did went back and forth on the second time I interrupted a young girl at the frountndest cheing gum and texting,when I told her my phone was jumping and texting without me doing anything she said I can fix that,putting my trust into her she managed to get rid of 2 of my emails And still phone acting up.Went back several more times a month has gone by still no one will fix or replace it contacted main branch was told by a asst.manager if it's a malfunction they may have to send it out where I would be without my phone forn2 days now im moving my accounts from US CELLULAR since they just won't replace my phone a simple fix with another ( oh I might saying am pre-paid maybe that's why) but still I was doing this on a trials bases to see if they were better then my last comp.
