It's hard for me to leave this review, but I will no longer be taking my meat to this location. I have had 7 pigs done here in the last 3 years
Year one: they forgot to give us a pig. We didn't realize what a chopped up pig looked like, but thought it was odd that of the two pigs, their were only 2 hams. We had to drive back 45 miles to pick up the other pig.
Year two: Three pigs dropped off. Pig #3 was for a friend. Pig three must have had an odd mutation as he had enough ribs for all three pigs. My friend had lots of ribs that year, we did not. We also paid for all of our bacon to be peppered, none of it was.
Year three: They did not charge me to pepper the bacon this year. We asked that it be cut into THIN slices. Each 1 pound pack of bacon was wrapped with 6-8 pieces of THICK bacon. And when I say thick, we are talking small steak. It's peppered, but ruined. This holds true for all of our jowel bacon as well, we will be cubing it and frying it for bacon bits as that is all it is now good for.
The staff here are very friendly. Doug in particular is a very nice guy, but having my meat taken care of here was a very large waste of my time and money. I would not have even grew out pigs this year if I could have forsaw the horrific butcher job.

Read moreWe had a half grass-fed beef and a whole hog processed at Jerry's. TO our dismay, they did not follow our cut sheets. Their ground meats come in tubes, which ordinarily I find very convenient, but theirs leak as they defrost and the packages are not the same weights, and the grind is erratic. We have many packages of very tough cuts labeled "london broil" that look like nothing we have ever seen and other packages labeled "tenderized round" which is a mystery as they talked us into some "tenderized rump" which we do not have, and this stuff is nasty tasting and mushy and yet still tough. Upon consulting another butcher and reflecting, we realize they did not age this beef at all. Our pig contains cuts we did not order and the ham is full of gristly stuff and very watery. The chops are all different thicknesses....

Homemade bread, on site smoked pork that is tender and yummy, with a delish coleslaw and bbq sauce on the side...WOW !Soooooo good ! Not to mention that they have an excellent fresh meat selection that is very reasonably priced and all natural from Oregon. Beef, Chicken, Pork, Game meats, Full Service Deli, meat processing and smoking.... Wow !
