The staff were friendly and the student really tried her best. Anytime there was something she didn't quite know (after the thing I'm about to mention) she asked the instructor to come and help out, she was nervous and thats perfectly fine as she is student. The styling in its self is fine. They went over the techniques etc However i do want to share my genuine experience so any future client who's getting their hair done. There are some things to consider. I showed what i want for a refrence, for the length, few bangs and to thin my hair out in some layers because its heavy hair, letting them know I'm only ok with 2 fist fulls off so my hair ends right under chest plate. The instructor measured with my back, by poking a finger on my spine where they would cut, it felt fine but i cant see my back and how its measured, ended up with 5 fists off (in measurement) im alittle sad, i know hair grows but its shorter than what i asked and mentioned several times (adds more time for growing). And yes im alittle self conscious. So maybe if anyone goes in to keep in mind to specifically to maybe ask for scissors and cut in front of them for the length you want your self so they have a pre guide. I included the photos, before,...
Read moreThis review is my opinion as a student. I personally have very mixed feelings about this school. Some of the instructors are the sweetest and coolest people and I enjoyed being around them so much. But, when rhea took over I wasn't as happy or as comfortable in the school. She really enjoys picking favorites, which sucks for all the other amazing students who are also doing great work. To have the owner only praise or even acknowledge one or two students that she very clearly favors. I also noticed just how unprofessional she can be with students. More than a few people had rhea call them outside of school hours to belittle and berate them on things she disagreed with. In the beginning she seemed very cool and passionate, but as time went on her true colors really did show. Also the school doesn't provide fresh water to students, no drinking fountains or water dispensers. Only water bottles that we have to purchase. As cosmetology students I had hoped to have access to fresh water to refill my own reusable water bottle, especially since hair stylists really need to stay hydrated while working sometimes hours without a break. The School wasn't horrible to attend, but I definitely wouldn't go back...
Read moreI had a mani/pedi for the first time at Centralia Beauty College recently and had a great experience. Olivia did my manicure, and though she is specializing in hair, she gave me a great manicure. Leslie is passionate about nails and lashes, and she did a great pedi, and she was not satisfied until it was PERFECT! Both ladies followed safety and sanitation guidelines, and we had such fun conversations. I know these ladies will be sucessful in their future careers. I will certainly be back to have Olivia balayage my locks! Please try the school for your next service. They're so reasonable, and it gives the students the practice they need. Don't forget to tip well! They're worth every penny! Update: Leilani did a shampoo and deep conditioning treatment on my hair, and it felt so soft and it shines like new. She took her time to ensure it was a complete coverage, and she is a joy too work with. If you want special-occasion makeup, give this girl a shot. She's amazing! Leslie continues to do my pedicures, and I'll continue to see her until she graduates....
