The fact that one would be in a funeral home means that one has just experienced a personal loss, and the first time I was in one, I didn't feel good about any of my experiences because of that, which would make an honest rating difficult. However, while I've had the misfortune of requiring such services for several loved ones, I do feel fortunate that my family has been in Scanlin's hands when needed.

Jim Scanlin is soft-spoken, listens well, and is all-around one of the most professional people I've met in a service business. He knows the nuts and bolts of his business well, but more importantly, he and his staff are aware of their obligation to be trusted guides through the process of making arrangements and managing services for folks who are in a bad place. The facility is formal yet comforting, and always clean and impeccably arranged. The location on Butler Avenue gives good access to major routes to local memorial parks. His range of services is pretty comprehensive, though I'd say that adding a projector to display computer slide shows/videos in large format would be a welcome addition.
