Geek Squad — Local services in Champaign

Bunch of idiots working here. Back in February took my wife’s iPhone here for back glass repair. Told me we would have to leave the phone with them and they would install when the glass came in roughly 3-4 business days. I said okay and we waited 2 weeks until we finally came in to inquire! Turns out one of their genius employees accidentally sent the phone to Apple instead of leaving it aside. They ended up shipping us an Apple refurbished phone and we got it in a couple days.

Fast forward to present the camera on the Apple refurbished phone that we should have never got just all of a sudden stopped working. So we took it back and they said the best they could do is send it to Apple and it would be 2-3 weeks for another replacement phone!!! What a joke. What person can go that long without their phone!

So I made the trip and took the phone to Apple myself and they were soooo much better. They said the phone didn’t have to replaced and they also said never go to Best Buy/ geek squad if possible! The Apple Store had the phone camera replaced in 2 hours and the customer service was 10x better! Not only that but they did it at no cost!

I purchased my computer from Best Buy less than a year ago with that I also purchased Geek Squad protection.

Since this time i purchased the computer I have had several things that needed to be repaired. Less than 3 months into owning my computer my speaker was blown. Fast forward not even 7 months later my camera and earphone jack were broken. With all these problems already happening in less that a year and having a warranty my expectation was that they would replace the computer.

This did not happen. I have continually had to send it in for repairs. This last time that I had to send it in working with Geek Squad chat to even have it looked at in order to get it repaired was a nightmare. Which was really disappointing because Best Buy has been a reputable company...

There’s a guy on here who has bashed Jeremiah at Geek Squad and I just have to say, how awful of a person do you have to be to reply with incorrect information on such a nice gentlemen. Firstly, he’s helped us with our iPhone 13 Pro Max issues, APPLE DOES NOT SEND OUT REFURBISHED UNITS UNLESS STATED OTHERWISE. Another helpful piece of information, if you look at the model and it starts with an F then it is refurbished. Jeremiah on the other hand was OUTSTANDING he told us it would be roughly 3-5 business days and we got it in 2. Cordial and professional. I would recommend this service again.
