Horizon Goodwill Retail Store — Local services in Charles Town

First let me start by saying I have donated so much to this store over the years, and I have shopped here since before you moved to this location. So for quite some time. These last few weeks this place has been horrendous. Putting aside the mess, you have garage sale stickers that say 50 cents on an item marked $7? The quality of product is terrible. The place looks like a storage unit. But that's not even my main issue. I was shopping here last week, and I over heard a few of the employees talking about a person that was fired. Right there for all the customers to hear. As I went up to the register to purchase the one item I did find they were still talking about the details of this person being fired. I find that completely unprofessional and uncalled for. This store had become my favorite over the last few months but it has gone downhill. I will not donate or shop here anymore. Last week we had worked hard to catch up on getting 10-12 bins of goods out on the floor in just a few hours. We get hot and sweaty and may be wearing a serious, determined, thinking face while we reach our goal, but are always happy to help in any way we can. We love our customers and have had several exclaim on how good the store looks and how clean and organized it is. They say our prices are great and many of our goods are in like new condition. (We are not allowed to take returns per policy, and this is posted on the doors and next to every register at checkout. Electronics can be checked at the back of the store.) We know our regulars and try to point out items they may be interested in. Ebay-ers, collectors and frequent customers all say how grateful they are for our help. We are so proud of the headway...

I have one problem, and I think my rating of the store is correct because of this: They close too early for no reason. I go in there to buy items, and I go mostly when the store is open until 6:00PM. They closed when I went there yesterday at 5:30, and I saw the lights turn off just as I was about to walk in with my boyfriend. I do however like the items that are being put on the shelves and racks. I will be going back.—————————

Feb 9th, 23: They’ve been quite amazing with closing now, so the above does not apply. I go here all of the time and everyone there is very friendly.
