I am surprised to see all of the great reviews and very disappointed that I have not had the same experience.

My fiancé purchased my ring and it was shipped to us in another state. Upon arrival, you could visibly see that the diamond was crooked on the band and had a large scratch on it. He was told that he could send it back and they would fix it and send him a new one, but was afraid he would not receive it back in time so he proposed with the damaged ring and I wore it for a few weeks so that I could have it for Thanksgiving to show my family. The stone became loose from receiving it October 30th to Thanksgiving November 28th. We contacted the jeweler and sent it back to be fixed immediately. Once the jeweler received it back, they said that they had to source a new stone and asked if I wanted a different size stone. I did not want a different size stone so I had to wait for them to source a new one which took weeks. Once I finally received the ring back it was even worse than the first time! It was crooked and had multiple large gouges on the diamond itself. We again had to send my ring back and wait weeks and had to keep reaching out for any updates. Once I finally got it for the third time, it looked great and there were no issues visible issues. However, we had been engaged for 3 months before I finally was able to wear my ring. It was disappointing to have to wait so long to wear my ring, especially through the holidays when seeing family members that wanted to celebrate and see my ring. The stress took away from such an exciting time in our lives. I’ve had the ring back for 1 month now and surprise surprise, the stone is loose again. I’m not even going to bother giving them a fourth chance to fix it.

Updating my review- after posting the above review the owner contacted my fiancé and did apologized and tried to rectify the situation by offering to send another ring.

Unfortunately the ring that was sent while better, still was not correct. We discussed adding bumpers to help with the ring spinning around on my finger. The bumpers were removed based on the salesman decision because he said it was the wrong size. He never contacted and asked if I was ok with this. When they were removed they didn’t grind them down properly and now where they were scratches my finger when I wear it.

Not to mention, the owner never reached out again after the ring was received and the sales person we worked with has continuously pestered me to update or remove my review, even though I expressed to him that I still am not satisfied. I cannot recommend this company their customer service...

We were eager to begin the process of shopping for an engagement ring, but unfortunately, our experience fell short of expectations. Upon arrival, Josh was friendly and gave a thorough presentation on the 4 Cs and ring options, which we appreciated. However, during the presentation, before even asking for our preferences, there were several long, awkward pauses as he typed incessantly on his computer. After the initial discussion, we moved on to exploring different ring cuts. At that point, Josh became disengaged, remaining focused on his computer while we navigated through the options on our own, without any professional guidance. Throughout the process, our names were forgotten multiple times — a minor issue at first, but it continued to happen, which felt impersonal. Additionally, despite clearly communicating our budget range of $4,000–$8,000, we were later presented with options totaling around $50,000, which felt out of touch with our stated preferences. Also, yes we know designing 2 engagements rings in 1 hour is a lot, but we asked if we needed another appointment to accommodate this, and he never answered due to being on the computer. So towards the end of our process, we were super rushed into make decisions about halos, prongs and everything else we did not get to see just to fulfill the design process in an hour. Overall, it was a disappointing experience, and we ultimately decided to take our business elsewhere in Charleston, where we had an exceptional experience. While Charleston Rings may offer “truly exceptional” products that they claim you cannot get elsewhere, the overall customer experience did not reflect this nor the price point in any way. If you want personal experience that makes it feel like the magical milestone engagement ring shopping should be, highly consider going somewhere else where the customer is prioritized...

Although there wasn't a pre-made selection of rings in store, this didn't matter at all and was likely an advantage, as Matt's true talent lies in his ability to create stunning custom pieces. After my fiancé's initial consultation, without her knowing, I had a series of Zoom calls with Matt a few weeks later to collaborate on the design. He did an amazing job guiding me through the process, ensuring that the final product would be the perfect fit for my fiancé. Matt's knowledge of various styles, cuts, and materials was extensive, and he took the time to explain the pros and cons of each option. What I appreciated most was his non-pushy approach, which made me feel comfortable and confident in our collaboration.

I would highly recommend approaching the process in this way as it provided the opportunity for her to significantly narrow down her preferences, while Matt was notating all the details and keeping the specifics on file, and then for me to work with him secretly to maintain the surprise while ensuring a home-run result that she loves.

In conclusion, I wholeheartedly recommend Charleston Engagement Rings and, in particular, Matt, for anyone looking to create a truly exceptional and personalized engagement ring.
