We are a family that loves games and escape games are a favorite activity. We have played more than 30 escape room games around the country. Time Traveler was one of our top 10 venues and we were sad to see them close their location. But we played their Vincent Chicco's Speakeasy, an outdoor escape room, the day after Thanksgiving. There were 6 of us (3 from the Charleston area and 3 from out of town) which was a perfect size group in my opinion. I don't want to give anything away but I will tell you that you carry a small briefcase from place to place solving clues. The weather wasn't that great but it didn't get in the way of us having fun. There is time for a drink at some of the places you stop as you figure out the next clue. It was a unique way to try new places in the city and see some new sites all while having a blast. Meaghan our host was great and made the activity so much fun. I highly recommend doing this with your family and/or friends. I would even do it again with other people that come to visit just to watch their reactions. Hopefully they will have more outdoor escape rooms soon. I cannot recommend this game more. We played The Apothecary. It was a great game. Very good theming and mixture of puzzles. Will definitely be back to play their other rooms. We went back and played JFK The Spy Who Loved Me. This was also a good room with good theming and a good mix of different type of puzzles. You definitely can tell the owners love their job and put a lot of thought into their escape rooms. We finally were able to go back and play their last room, Lavinia Fisher's Boarding House. It was very good. The game was only one room but it had a good variety of puzzles/locks that kept us very entertained. Can't wait for their...

I can’t say enough about Meghan’s great customer service. We had a hiccup on our end during booking and she couldn’t have been more considerate in helping us get our investigative experience back on track. We only did one room that day but we will be back each time we visit Charleston to do all the rest. We had previously done two other local companies but we all agreed we enjoyed this one the most. It was more entertaining and hands on puzzle solving than the others and the investigation flowed along better. Also communication with Meghan during the event was much clearer than other places and her clues were productive and tailor made to our needs at that moment. She didn’t give too much away. Just the right nudge. It was very well rounded in terms of actual puzzles and devices, not just constant deluge of letter/number codes for padlocks that we have experienced at other places. This made it more inclusive for everyone in the group and we found we all worked together the entire time instead of pairing off trying to just mostly decipher codes as we have done at other places. Very enjoyable experience and we all highly recommend it for a fun event for 4 or more people. (And I wonder if Meghan ever figured out how I managed to defeat one padlock the wrong way LOL!). See you again...

We played Dr. Trott's Apothecary as a 4-person family and Ryan was our Game Master. All-around, a very solid escape room experience. The facade out front, the lounge in the lobby, and the room itself were super well done and very immersive! They offer beverages, as others have mentioned, and they have games in the lounge to play with if you're early. Being 15 minutes early is their sweet spot. The room was super fun and included a variety of lock types. All of the props and locks were well-maintained and Ryan knew his stuff very well. My only constructive criticisms are that the speaker in the first room seemed to be out, so we couldn't hear Ryan well for the first chunk of our adventure, a certain prop could have its sensitivity turned up because what we had to do to it didn't register when I first tried it, and after we took our first clue, we were kind of just given more clues until we got to the end. Granted, we were very close to escaping and this is just a matter of a Game Master's style. I personally prefer when a Game Master asks permission before giving more clues. Ryan did an awesome job, though, and we had an amazing time as a family! We escaped with 3 minutes left on the clock and got to experience some new puzzles. Thanks for an awesome...

Megan and Time Traveler Adventures is **AWESOME**. This is the perfect "escape room" for those who have done the usual escape room and are looking for something new and unique. Our party of 4 adults did the Vincent Chiccos Speakeasy adventure. We loved the scenic tour, mixed with historical elements, and the occasional drink and food stop along the way! We walked through the parts of Charleston that tourists long to experience and locals love to revisit. The challenges were easy enough to solve and feel a sense of accomplishment, but also mixed with enough challenge that a few drinks in we were all feeling the weight of the challenge. Megan made each stop fun, hilarious, and entertaining -- giving us local information and sharing lore along the way! Do we recommend this adventure? ABSOLUTELY. We can't wait to try the Pirate Adventure next! The best parts: the historical information mixed with famous stops along the way with drinks and yummy foods! Recommendations to newbies: this is a LOT of walking. Wear comfy shoes! Be silly. It's meant to be just that -- silly and informative with a mix of fun and a nod to the "escape room" theme. Our favorite part: Dueling Alley! For sure! Fascinating, beautiful, and fun!

If you're looking for a unique and unforgettable experience, **Time Traveler Escape Games** is an absolute must! We recently celebrated my wife's 40th birthday with them, and it exceeded all expectations. The host was incredible—she went above and beyond to ensure we had an amazing time. Her enthusiasm and attention to detail truly made the day special. The experience combined everything you could want: fun, challenging games and puzzles, a fascinating glimpse into Charleston's history, and visits to some fantastic local bars. It was the perfect mix of adventure and celebration. Each stop felt like its own little journey through time, and we loved the immersive storytelling and clever design of the challenges. The whole event was so well-organized, and the host's energy kept the excitement going from start to finish. Whether you're a local or just visiting Charleston, this is an experience you won’t want to miss. Thank you, Time Traveler Escape Games, for making this milestone birthday one to remember! We'll definitely be back for more!
